Also I'll be getting a 32mb module in the mail soon. Hopefully that will work.I'm also in the process of getting my hands on a ppc cpu that I can swap out on the 575 board.
I took the 550 board out and got the 575 board working without bus errors. I was doing the resedit hack wrong :-/
Overall the computer feels alot faster, I just need to modify the back door now.
I've had the 550 board in the Color Classic and it's working fine with it. I installed 512k of vram on the board and it has 8mb of ram so far, with Mac OS 7.6.1 installed.
I bought a new floppy drive for it, but it refuses to work. A 128mb module that I bought fit on the 550 board, but system...
I'd sure like to know where you bought your 128mb module. Mine fit fine, but the computer wouldn't boot, screen stayed black.
I put the ram in the 575 motherboard and the 550 motherboard.
I bought a 32mb(which will bump it to 36mb) module for now, which is guaranteed to work.
Okay I finally got the Color Classic running after a frustrating experience with the LC 575 motherboard. I bought an LC 550 which I received today with some cracked corners on the case :-/
Anyways, I pulled the LC 550 motherboard out installed the 512k Apple VRAM on the board and swapped the...
This is very good news because I just bought a 128mb 72pin simm module. I bought an entire LC 550 machine today, so I can pull the board out of that when I receive it, put that into the Color Classic. Then put the LC 575 board in the 550's case and get rid of that damn color classic board lol :p
Added System Enabler 403 to the System Folder, still nothing when trying to boot off the 7.6.1 CD with 575 board. Got Sad mac face at boot, when I tried to boot off the 8.1 CD .
Tried doing the VGA hack to the 7.6.1 suitcase. but the numbers don't seem to match with the ones given in these...
I think I'm going to give System Enabler 1.1 a shot and replace the 1.0 enabler with that on the hard drive. Then boot off the 7.6.1 CD with the 575 board installed.
I'll give you all an update.
Update: Put barebones System Folder I extracted from 7.6.1 CD-ROM which I then put on a boot disk CD-ROM, booted from disk, copied System Folder to HardDisk with the System Enabler with the stock Motherboard in the computer. Shut computer down booted with Mac OS 7.6.1 CD-ROM with stock...
I can't get this machine to install the Mac OS with the 575 motherboard.
The original motherboard that came with the Color Classic is missing ram and gives me out of memory messages when I try to Install 7.6.1 off the CD.
I also keep getting bus errors when I boot off the Mac OS 7.6.1 Full...

What type of Hard Drive does the Color Classic use, does it use SCSI or IDE? Also will 2GB be compatible with this machine, and where can I purchase one online?
I'll be putting a LC 575 motherboard in with 7.6.1 for the Operating System.
