Did Apple ever consider offering a 68k Mac running the Apple II OS? Could it be a dual boot system? It could have then run the huge amount of Apple II software available at the time.

UPDATE: looks like resetting the PRAM was not the solution to my floppy formatting failure frustration. I believe now it was several bad system disks that I was using. Sorry for the confusion.

Solved? I reset the PRAM (shift-option-command then open control pannel) and it seamed to fix the formating problems. The two internal drives are 1.44k drives; the external is an 800k drive.

Solved. Didn't know that 6.0.8 was limited to 2GB per volume. So I ran patched setup 7.3.5 again, initialized again, deleted the default 4 GB partition, and created a 1 GB partition. Viola! Works now. Easy peasy!
