Turn out the plastic mounts for the crt are cracking so it has to be done anyways to repair them. I’ll be sure to get a photo or two while I’m at it. Crt has been discharged so all I have to do is remove it.

I’m not sure if I’m able to get all the values of the Alan of board. I have no way to discharge the crt safely so that may be out of my doing.

I just found a Facebook post from several years ago about recapping a duo 280, and it shows at least 3 of the caps match the 2300. The other caps aren't marked on the top , so I cannot determine the values of those. This supports your thought that they have the same values, so I will order those...

Just got confirmation, he misread it. It is indeed a 16v cap

Just received the capacitor values from him to ensure they are the same, and noticed one difference. The capacitor that is noted as 330uf 16v on your site was 330uf 18v on his duo. Unfortunately, the power button at the back doesn’t do anything either.

I’m going to order them on the chance that they are the same. That would save me several weeks of shipping times if they are. In any case, they will be confirmed when I get the duo. Hopefully all goes well. Thanks for all the help and info.

Good that they are of use! They don't show any signs of leaking at all, but you never know if they have failed or not. Only way to rule the out fully is to replace, which he will be doing. I let him know, hopefully that's all the problem is. He is quite resilient on making the charger lol. Caps should not take too long to arrive so hopefully he can get it working within the next week or two and start diagnosing the display.
