You're saying you plugged in... a wet motherboard?? Wow. I'm not saying you're dumb or anything, but it's unfortunate that you weren't taught as a child that such things were dangerous... Something my father always used to tell us from a very young age about the nature of electricity was this...

The black light thing seems like an accidental discovery though. I imagine it's pretty difficult to "accidentally discover" that you can fix some motherboards by dunking them in soapy water...

    Three towers

Wow. That's nuts. What kind of card was it? (I'm not sure what GPIB stands for) Something like that happened to me once, except it was a rare book I came across in a library sale.. a 1932 first english edition Mein Kampf. (No, I'm not a nazi) But I knew it was worth money. I paid $10 for it...

    Wow.

Is there some sort of story to go along with the picture? I wish it was available in high resolution. It would make a cool background. :)

    2TB: $247USD

I'm currently setting up a 500gb USB hard drive that we picked up for about $55 on clearance at Target. :D :D I know WD doesn't have the best track record, but I really really need some extra storage space for my iTunes collection... 85 out of 120 GB of my main drive is music. :O Even if...

    What the HECK????

This has happened to me once or twice, although I don't remember on which machine and I absolutely cannot explain it. Something about witnessing such a thing made me feel dirty inside, as if I had received a BSOD.

    PowerBook 540c LCD "Grid"

:( Any idea what causes it? Alot of my electronics have been having failures like this and I am thinking it could be the area I moved to last year... it's extremely humid here.

    PowerBook 540c LCD "Grid"

No, it was just dark because of the angle the pic was taken at. I'm talking about the yellow (orange maybe? I'm colorblind) line running vertically down the screen. It showed up randomly a few weeks ago and hasn't gone away since. Thanks for letting me know about the sharing thing... I'll have...

    PowerBook 540c LCD "Grid"

I'm having an issue with the screen on my 520c, although I think it uses a different screen than the 540c. Here is a pic.~ http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h149/aphetica/520c_screen.jpg I have a spare screen if it comes down to having to replace it, but I am really not looking forward to...

    Tray-loading CD-ROM in Slot-loading iMac?

Tried it with OSX, but not with OS9. I'm not sure if it will work, but I suppose it's worth trying. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Tray-loading CD-ROM in Slot-loading iMac?

That's a good idea. I do happen to have an adapter that plugs into the wall that's made for powering molex devices. I'll have to try that one.

    Tray-loading CD-ROM in Slot-loading iMac?

I don't want to actually install it permanently. I'll do what I did last time and remove the bottom half of the iMac, flip the unit upside-down, and just temporarily set the CD drive on top of it while it installs the OS. Once it is installed I'll put it all back together without the CD drive...
