frys.com had that same GPU for $0 after mail-in rebate about 2 weeks ago... I was going to buy it and reflash it, but unfortunately one of the only Macs it's incompatible with is the FW800 G4. :(

Can I swap a 6500/300 mobo into a 6400 case without swapping the power supply, or will the extra 100mhz be too much for it? Also, the 6500 doesn't have onboard ram like the 6400, right? Does the board have traces leading to where ram should be, but no chips? Or is there simply nothing there at all?

Well, I don't know how good I've been, but at least I've been well. :) Also, at some point during the week I should be getting a IIsi. Apparently it needs a cap or two soldered back on, but that's okay. Fixing stuff is fun. What OS should I put on it? I never have good luck, so I don't know...

I scored some beef jerky this week too! My mom mailed me some "Pemmican" beef jerky... it wasn't very good though. I prefer Wild Bill's. I don't know if they sell that beyond the northeast US though. :/

So I've been playing Doom III for a few days and it runs pretty well in lower resolutions. It seems pretty average to me as far as shooters go, but I really don't have much choice on this platform, I suppose. It's good enough for me though, and it's sufficiently creepy. :D Deus Ex seems to do...

I'm still waiting to get a slocket to take my 450mhz P3 Dell to a 1.3ghz Celeron. I think the sheer increase in clock speed should make up for any shortcomings of a Celery over a P3. Although... I probably still won't have much use for that machine. :lol:
