Just because we use this site to discuss old macs it doesn't mean we have to be able to work on this forum with said old macs. I, for one, have absolutely not interest in browsing the web with my old machines, I like to do with them what was intended, and while they were made to handle...
My Quadra 700 does the exact same thing when booting 7.6.1. (Maybe other OSs but I haven't run any others in a long while.) It chimes, starts just enough to turn the CRT LED green, then it reboots. I've been told this is because 7.6.1 needs something at boot that macs as old as the q700 don't...
You type PR#1 at the BAISC (]) prompt to output anything typed. As per paper they can use tractor feed or normal loose leaf depending on what mode you have it in.
Also almost every dotmatrix printer ever can self test. With my model, you can either hold down TOF/QUIET while you turn it on or hold down line feed while you turn it on. The ImageWriter II is the same - turn it on while holding form feed and it will do a self test.

According to the box, it (The Macintosh Support Package) originally included the following:
- Flip 'n' File /Micro 10 Diskette Storage Box
- 3M Clean 'n' Safe screen cleaner
- 3M Clean 'n' Safe platen cleaner
- 3M Post-it note pad
- Diskwriter two-ended computer pen
- Some floppy disk...
Thanks!
Another update - The imagewriter works grandly, completes self test and loads tractorfeed happily. Not surprisingly, both ribbons are mostly dried up, so tomorrow morning ima hit up office depot and get a new one.
Quit update time: it works beautifully, I just booted the guided tour floppy and am having waaay too much fun! Why can't new computers be this awesome!?
I'll make this first post brief 'cause I know all you nuts are just in it for the pictures.
Normally I'm not to interested in pre-SE macs, but when I was given an offer for a 512ke with a "boatload of stuff" (for free) it was kind of hard to turn down. Nah, it was impossible to turn down! In...
