    Why no NeXT section?

Also because this is the 68k -macintosh- liberation army. If we let in NeXT we might as well let in suns too, and then TI calculators. And nextcomputers has that area completely covered already. Redundancy in these sorts of things causes lots of problems.

    Pallet-o-G4s (and more!)

Thanks! It's a 2001 v70XC, and has been a great car since we got it about two years ago. Unfortunately all the IIcis all have astec power supplies, and one of them was shot when we got it. I think the GE ones are sorta uncommon.

    Anyone ever used "Pooch"?

Yesterday I set up five G4/400s all with nearly identical installs of OS9.2.2 with the hope of being able to use Pooch to make a little cluster to play around with - generating fractals and such. Each machine has a different IP & number, and they can all see eachother in chooser as well as...

This is true, but I only have one PCI bracket thing.

    Pallet-o-G4s (and more!)

No, sadly they came like that - missing bezels, doors, non cracked plastics, etc. Really bums me out because that is my favorite case ever and I have to ditch all three of these...

    Pallet-o-G4s (and more!)

But it works so fantastically! Without them those, or the beiges, would have been left behind.

Tell me how to differentiate between revisions and I'd be happy to take a look!

    Pallet-o-G4s (and more!)

Dunno yet. I'll keep at least two quicksilvers, and I might distribute the lower G4s as I see fit.

    Pallet-o-G4s (and more!)

Today user IPNixon, a non-MLA friend, and I went to the local university surplus and bought a pallet. Of macs. Twenty four macs in total, mostly G4 towers, and four 68ks. They all barely fit in my station wagon, and two of them had to be roped onto the roof. Most were missing RAM and HDDs, but...

    Sawtooth!

Nice score! Sawtooth plastics are pretty easy to get off the chassis, essentially you just look for where there are plastic latches and pop them off. I don't know if any guides, but if you spend enough time pulling on panels and looking for clips you should have no trouble.

    G3 400 vs G4 450 -- Which one did he take home?

I would have taken the G3, mostly because I love how the B/W case looks and I have never owned one. On the other hand, I have owned four G4s and am no longer particularly interested in them. Depending on how patient you are the B/W may be better as it has RAM and a HDD. The speed difference...

    CAD for a 512ke

Yeah, if you've got a good way to get the files out of the DMG - presumably that stuff could be split across three 700k disks for the 512ke. That'd be great.

    CAD for a 512ke

Aw bummer - I got ClarisCAD 1.04 from that site (it was a ~650KB sit) and it expanded into a 1.9MB DMG. Not exactly something I can work with on a centris 650, or something small enough for a 512ke... Back to looking.

    CAD for a 512ke

ClarisCAD sounds incredibly promising. I suppose I should set up my Centris 650 to actually floppify this stuff though, heh!

    CAD for a 512ke

Do any CAD programs for this era machines exist? I'm taking a drafting class at the community college and have been on a bit of a CAD/Drawing bender duplicating some of the things we've drawn in class and it occurred to be that doing CAD on a 512ke (and then printing on the IWII) would be...

    High ho, Quicksilver!

I tried the same in my sawtooth and MDD - one problem you'll consistently run into is the fact that the black plastic antenna is too long for the case to close. I popped one of my cards over investigating whether or not it could be simply lopped off but there is, unfortunately, circuitry in there.

Wha?! Max size of signiture 255 characters!

If you're not hosting anything it's probably in your best interest to just disable DynDNS all together.

Wha?! Max size of signiture 255 characters!

Actually it goes to -your- router login page. That URL redirects to 192.168.1.1.
