Moving this post to its own thread, I originally added it to an existing post on a related topic and probably few people will see it there.

I have a Performer clone I built (thanks @Bolle) that works fine in my SE, and I recently installed it in my Plus. The machine works fine booting from my BlueSCSI v1.1 without the accelerator drivers installed, when I install the drivers (I have tried GemStart 2.2 and 3.0) the machine freezes...
Good idea on the solder wick, I hadn't thought of that. I have an IIsi PSU with one dodgy large trace that I repaired with possibly too-small wire. It's a backup unit so I wasn't too worried at the time, but that trace seems like a good candidate to re-do with solder wick.
After watching Bruce's videos I bought some coated wire similar to what he was using. Unlike his wire coating that melts very quickly with heat, the coating on my wire seems rather immune to heat. I have had to carefully strip the coating off with a razor before using for repairs. Does anyone...
I wouldn't bet my life on this, but... WDL is the normal abbreviation for Washington Driver's License, and that string of numbers and letters follows the pre-2018 drivers license numbering format.
First 5 letters of last name, first name initial, middle name initial, 2-digit number consists of...
I don't have a good idea what something like this is worth. The useful part is the bracket, as others have mentioned the drive is likely dead, and the usefulness of the bracket is questionable depending on what it actually does. Someone might like the fact it has the box. Shipping would be...
Oh yeah... A splash screen AND a badge, for something that you basically could have ordered as a factory option (granted 20mb).
I like the splash screen on my 512k HyperDrive, I feel like it is appropriate, this one seems a bit excessive.
I just re-capped my Astec PSU today. I am not sure if there are multiple versions of the Astec power supply, but mine had a 2200uF 16v cap that is not on the list, photo attached. I grabbed a cap I had laying around it was a bit narrower (5mm) than the original cap. The original looks like...
I only installed it in my plus once, I took it out for now until I recap the AB since it may be a bit weak, the machine was struggling with both the accelerator and BlueSCSI using SCSI power. I didn't see any fitment issues, but I didn't look closely. I might be able to check later today...
I ran across an ad for this 512k, it has some sort of a box on the back plugged into the mouse port. It appears to have a slider that goes from tortoise to hare, so I assume it controls pointer speed, but I don't know why it would have both a male and female connector. Has anyone seen one of...
I have tried to repair two IIsi boards - one I have relegated to parts, the other one I successfully repaired. Check out this thread: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/new-iisi-project-any-tips.42463/
Based on my experience as well as all the reading I have done about these boards there...
I just finished my second accelerator, this one is SE-specific, meaning I used a proper Euro DIN connector instead of the pin header, and did not install the socket to connect to the Plus CPU. A couple thoughts...
GAL related - as with my first build, the first round of GALs I programmed did...
