get your power supply checked out. in the shop i work at, these symptoms happen often when a unit has a bad power supply. we have a tester that just plugs in, but for a mac, you would need to get a wiring diagram and a multimeter.

i just tried it for giggles in grins, but took it off because it wasn't consistent. Some things would work better, but then they would be slower again if the hard drive was doing anything. All the cards in mine are bus hogs.

I thought about doing that, But I also have an ATA 133 controller card as well as a USB/FW card, so having that enabled might hinder overall performance.

you best bet is finding one with an 83mhz grackle and switching out the roms. best of both worlds. If you get the high end sonnet, you can only run at the 66 mhz anyways though.

cache is built into the processor card, so you dont have to worry about that. you will, however, have to worry about the voltage regulator. There is a certain brand that fries any processor that didn't come in the computer.

seeing as the ram disc is set at 128mb of ram, i would try booting with 64 mb of ram. If needs that much ram, you probably have a memory leak. My guess is that the computer will run out of memory while booting, and make a note of what it is loading. this should also disable the ram disk if i...

for ppc gaming, i use the g3 in my signature. For 68k, I use my Quadra 950 with 88MB of ram.

if it still doesnt work, you should try the atx power supply hack. although it might just be safer to get your hands on something like a quicksilver or some g4 with a bigger power supply.
