Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I picked up two Quads on the cheap, but the LCS's need rebuilt.
Temp LED and #7 on.
No signs of leakage, pretty sure the flow is just restricted, I know for a fact it was on the one I already pulled a part.
The one I pulled already is the Dual Pump version, but the one still to be done is the...
What size is the new tubing I need?
For the G5 Quad.
Also, the picture doesn't show you need to remove the two Hex screws at top and bottom of the left hand edge of your diagram, and neither does the service manual.
I suppose the updated LCS's, not the Delphi's, but the Panasonics???? These...
All the G5's have 8X AGP???
I've seen benchmarks of the B&W hitting near the 266MB/s on 64 bit PCI RAID controllers.
If the RAM can't move data that fast, what is it, magic?
Generally speaking the lower numbers, 32k-1024k are going to be some of your slowest benchmarks.
Try and use a real...
IDE to compact flash or IDE to SATA. Chose the adapter that fits the price you want to pay and the drive you want to buy.
Both are pretty cheap solutions.
I've never killed a Mac swapping PCI cards, and I'm willing to wager I've done it more time than the top three behind me combined.
Like I said, AGP is another matter when it has ADC.
Keeping the 3 prong power cord installed keeps the Mac grounded, so you touch the grounded metal on the Mac and...
I hope not!
I never unplug my Mac's switching PCI cards unless I'm swapping the AGP card in ADC Macs because that little dohicky by the ADC connector is always hot and you will hit it with the faceplate of the AGP card.
Pretty sure it's 28v and I know for a fact it will throw a hell of a spark...
Are the Sawtooth PSU's compatible with the Yikes LoBo's without modifications?
Also can I just put a Yikes Lobo in a Sawtooth case?
Do the screw holes line up?
Is the front panel board and plug compatible without modification?
Beige G4( 420Mhz/35MHz PCI/70MHz bus )SiL3112 2 SSD striped RAID( SW ) Tiger Server 10.4.11 59MB/s
That's not too bad, better than I thought the SiL3112 would do in the Beige, but it's not 87MB/s either.........
We should get sATAman over here, sometimes he hangs out at os9lives or MacRumors...
G5 Dual 2.0GHz LSI SAS3041X two SSD striped RAID Leopard 10.5.8 509MB/s( while spotlight indexes the Mac ).
BTW, the Raid volume is the boot volume.
I still got two SAS ports to stick drives on. 133Mhz PCI-X card.
I should be able to get real close to the 1066MB/s with a full four drive...
The Ram of the Beige starts at 266MB/s, then we start cranking up the bus.
I'm woking on a 66MHz PCI hack for the Beige G3, but I also have a Yikes LoBo I've not touched yet.
256k blocks is going to be about your slowest speeds, no?
You got me jealous, I've been wanting one of those 2.7GHz AGP/PCI-X Macs for awhile and never can find one close at the right price.
I was using the benchmark form Intech HD Speed Tools.
Not getting all scientific, just putting out peak numbers.
G5 Dual 2Ghz Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 Sil3112 66Mhz operating in PCI-X slot 2 SATA SSD's striped RAID 161MB/s.( 158MB/s with bus @500MHz and CPU @1Ghz ).
I've got some drives that...
Disk speed is hugely important to responsiveness of the OS and Apps.
So Let's see your best disk speeds for PPC and 68k!
Lately I've been toying with the LSI SAS controllers the have PPC support in Tiger Server and Leopard, but I also have the Sonnet Tempo ATA100 PATA PCI controller and a...
You know if you use a machine capable of PCI PassThrough, you can emulate a Mac, but use a real PCI or PCI Express graphics card.
I had a Ryzen 7 1700 running Debian on a B350-F Gaming Mainboard and a PCI-E to PCI breakout box with a Rage128 card running OS X Tiger in Qemu-system-PPC.
I could...
I'd really like to report some benchmarks of HW MPEG2 encoding vs SW with QT on the Beige G4, but QT6 only seems to save one frame of the video file when I chose to export to MPEG2.
I found a bad stick of RAM and I was hoping that was the issue, but removing it and the issue persists...
