So you know if you send the bus up you'll have to back down the CPU multiplier?
The XPC106 Rated at 66MHz rarely does 83MHz without very quickly overheating, that is if the iMac will boot at all, my Beige won't. I'll see if I can check my spear iMac CPU card and see if I can see the resisters...
0836 0586 2E44756D... dc.b ".DumpFlash__9SerialATAFlPcl"
What does this instruction do?
01A0 00000000 00000000 01000000 00000004 122E5072 6F6A6F76 69616E53 43534953
Is that the address in the EEPROM for the SIM? 0100 0000 0001 0000( endian flipped )?
The cheapest eBay card looks pretty good too, but the EEPROM chip is not on the front of the card, so we have no idea what it is, or what size it is.
The card has 1x IDE, 2xSATA, 1xESATA.
That would pretty much fit everyone's needs and should be bootable in any PPC OS, but we don't no what...
Good catch. 00020000 would be 128k, and his chip is 2Mbit?
All I can say is this shit again, same stupid game played with the internal logic of the Promise PDC20xxx flash memory.
The Sonnet chip for sale right now on eBay is RX450LE and Sonnet sold it as 500MHz, as you can see from the sticker.
So Sonnet too was engaging in a deceptive business practice, they could have just as easy bought a 500MHz rated mpc7410, but the profits would have not been the same.
People...
the default output-device in OF is likely ttya as is the default input-device.
You'll need something like a Boot Variable program to set them to "screen" and "kbd", but I can't remember what that program is called right now.
You got the full 10429 Bytes of the 'ndrv' in the device tree, that's a good sign!
You did open Drive Setup or another disk tool to see if the drives connected were showing up there and not mounted, right?
What, no love for PPC?
If you want to have a look that the PPC ROM collection internals, and you have brew and pip2 installed:
pip install tbxi
Then it's just tbxi dump or build.
Works on old world rooms( mostly ) and new world :tbxi's ( very well ).
A very useful tool for ROM hacking...
Seems to ignore that setting and just capture at half res. anyway.
I've read conflicting reports the 'Wings' card is fixed at 1/2 res.
I know there were upgraded 'Wings' cards, so maybe that's it, but doesn't seem like Apple would cheap out there considering the 8600 could do full res. in the...
I didn't see those there, but with MPW I normally need more hand holding than usual.
I thought you had linked DumpPEF somewhere?, that's going to be a really useful tool once I learn how to use it.
BTW is pef the formate that can serve as an 'ndrv' extension if placed in the Extensions folder?
Do you think there is a checksum byte like there is for nVidia soft straps, if there is and the strap is not copied complete with the checksum byte, it will just be ignored.
As we have no idea what any of it does, except the device ID 7244, then that is going to be an issue, we won't know what...
If it is an abort, the ID check is only in the 'ndrv' not the OS X driver, and they are not used by OF.
I'm not real sure, could be encoded different in the OS X driver and I just don't see it.
If the properties are there in OF, and not in the Mac OS or Mac OS X, then they are going to abort...
