The classic was @Kai Robinson's project, I did however do the LC: https://github.com/max234252/MacLC-Reloaded (That has boat a Traced board layout done in sprint and a schematic done in KiCad. One day i'll get around to redrawing the board in KiCad too)
The LC and CII do both have 3 "connected"...
Ahh interesting - I know exactly the one you are talking about and was unaware that the maths in that had been disproved
I have made that mistake before on another PSU and can confirm it is NOT fun! Don't go poking heatsinks in PSU's!
This is also very true, even if it may not be *that*...
I don't want to turn this into argument of opinions here but my understanding is that the HV output of a small black and white CRT would not normally be enough to kill or injure someone. Yes the voltage is high but the current is very low (a handful of ma from what I understand) and given this...
That's a very interesting idea, though I would worry about the mechanical stability of placing a ZIF module on the BGA footprint. (Though I guess you could use the old heatsink mounting points to anchor the adapter in place)
You can buy pre-crimped JST cables from china pretty cheaply so you could always splice one of those with the socket form a mole to sata adapter. It's just a matter of figuring out exactly which JST variant it uses as there is a bunch of differen't ones
Thanks :) I'm very happy with how it has come out and was certainly not expecting it to boot on the first try!
Thanks ;) Case will probably be something 3d printed but we haven't really decided yet, this may not even be the final form factor as this design was mainly done to be easy to test
I...
Ah, C8 is also the wrong way round, that is on VCC for the EGRET chip so if that's shorting (as tants then to do when subjected to reverse voltage) it will definitely make the system crash / reboot
Looks like you have a jumper from the positive side of C13 to pin 3 of LP2 which isn't correct, the positive pin of C13 should connect to one side of R37 and one side of R54 (both are on the other side of the board)
This shows where it should be connected to (Blue parts are pads / traces on the...
That is actually something that is on my list of things to do :)
Unfortunately that list is very long so if someone else want to have a crack at it please be my guest!
