I did transplant a HyperDrive but I think it was a version 2.0 like the one BadGoldEagle mentioned. Checking my previous pics, I have not taken out an original Hyperdrive power supply before. I would guess they would be very similar though.
snuci, could you have a look at your Hyperdrive Analog Board on your Hyperdrive20 if you still have it? Would really appreciate it. :) The Hyperdrive is a beast of a machine!
Sorry, I was going to take a look today but didn't get a chance. I have two Rev 1's, one that has a bad hard drive...
I have an Amiga 3000T that I replaced the motherboard soldered battery with a coin cell battery. I soldered a couple of wires on the motherboard and extended the wires to a safe distance. I then used a coin cell holder and put this in a bag. It hangs in place so it's nowhere near the...

I don't think Alerts are that quick :) I was a the right place at right time. I am unlikely to sell it but I will put you at the top of my list if I do, olePigeon.
Got an Apple IIGS Model A2S6001 that was upgraded from an Apple IIe for $139 plus shipping. Been looking for one of those for a while.

I also bought some Apple Disk II drives from the same seller. One has a recent serial number label that I have never...
I just saw a Buyer's Guide for Macintosh book on eBay from Winter of 1984. On the cover is a picture of a Macintosh. It looks to be quite dark already. I've seen pictures of much lighter ones and assumed that darker pictures meant they were darkened by light but now I'm wondering.
Is this an...
Well, I fixed my motherboard with the replacement of G12 using the technique I mentioned. No problem!
Fire it up all is well. Put in a floppy disk and.. my floppy drive didn't work. I put the disk in (System 1.0) and try to boot but I'd get nothing. I turned it off, turned it on with the...
Thanks for the advise guys. I did find a picture of an original Mac 128k board with one chip replaced and it was 150ns. I think I have only one of these RAM chips so for giggles, I'll swap G12 and see what happens. If it works, I'll run it for a bit. If I see a new code, I'll consider...
I hear you but I have the non-Apple chips that are old on hand already so why not try them?
Sorry, I was probably not clear. The 4264s on the 128k motherboard are not marked with speeds so I was wondering if I should use a 4264-15 or 4264-20 to try to match the unmarked chips on the board.
Thanks.
I just got a Mac 128k (serial F41314HM0001) with it's original motherboard. On boot up, I get a Sad Mac with 048000 error. I tried to piggy back a 4264 chip onto G12 but I get the same results. Below the 048000 I get moving dots. I also get two vertical lines of random dots on screen. ...
I have a USB card in my TAM along with the Comm slot network card. I'll check what my USB card is tomorrow. I don't think it has Firewire but I'm pretty sure it's USB 1.1 only.
That's pretty awesome and would make anyone appreciate a TAM more when finding one like that :)
I don't buy a whole lot of Apple stuff these days but I did get a couple of cool eBay finds lately.
A couple of Apple Avid AEK II keyboards - Is this the period keyboard for PowerMac 9600 with an Avid-Ready sticker on it.

Hitchhiker 80 hard drive - not...
Thanks for the help guys. I meant to try to remove this last night but got busy and didn't have a chance. I will try it as soon as I can and report back.
Thanks again.
I am not a Mac person and this is probably super easy but I must have installed something and now my TAM boots to a gray screen that I can't get out of without rebooting. If I start up with extensions disabled, I'm okay.
It flips to the screen below after an extension with two chips loads and...
Just to be clear, I never once criticized the auction or the price (which is not allowed). I genuinely wondered if the original Apple Lisa mouse is that rare/collectible because it was bid on by someone. I guess it could be construed as a gray area.
Just saw this on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171983561235and someone bid on it. Is it really that collectible or is someone screwing around?
Anyone else here have one like this? They have to be still fairly common. Maybe I should check my serial number :)
Hi Gilles,
I just wanted to add a comment since there are none at the moment but like me, there are probably others who feel that this is important work and are watching with interest.
Thanks for taking the time to do this for the vintage computing community.
Uni,
Here's a pic from my bad drive where the glass fell off and chipped:

aplmak,
I know what you mean but you are not replacing capacitors, as an example. You are in a highly sensitive area and there is a possibility of breaking the...
