    Snuci's Finds...

I received my $50 Mac Color Classic today and figured I'd open it up to see what issues there were.  I have an LC575 board for this, just in case so I didn't mind if it had issues.  I was just going to check for battery damage but when I removed the back cover, I was greeted with some type of...

    DaynaFile hackiness

Sorry, old thread.  If anyone needs a power supply for a Daynafile (like the one Anonymous Freak displayed above), they are available on eBay here for just over $10:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/272285134326 I just bought one after finding this thread.

Couldn't stay away from this one.  You don't see an Apple Director's Chair come up for sale too often.

    Snuci's Finds...

Lucky on the Daystar Turbo 040 but unlucky with the PowerCD. No dice on making that work but at least I have the power supply and the base.  Seems to be easier to find a CD unit without the accessories. I'll have to try my luck once again at some point just to complete the unit now :) Another...

    Snuci's Finds...

Thanks guys.  I got the card today and the CPU is an XC68040RC40M so I guess it's a 40Mhz model but I thought I had read these came with a 33Mhz CPU and it was overclocked to 40Mhz as noted here:  https://www.fenestrated.net/mac/Turbo040/   I guess that isn't accurate, maybe for later ones?

    Snuci's Finds...

New acquisition in a small lot.  Can anyone tell me if this Daystar Digital Turbo 040 (model 01-00489) will fit a Macintosh IIci?  The seller wasn't sure if it was out of a cx or "ci".  If the crystal says 20MHz, is it a 40MHz model? I do have a "ci" and hope I can use it there.  From what...

    Snuci's Finds...

Thanks for the reply Sherry.  I appreciate that.  I'll check for these specific issues when it arrives. I had a similar issue with an Amiga CD32.  The top door did not close all of the way (it was a little warped) so the "door is closed" sensor didn't register properly.  I had already purchased...

    Snuci's Finds...

I'm still on the fence if this was a good deal or not but I jumped on an Apple Color 100 with a best offer.  Been looking for one of these for ages.  It's beat up, has some chips missing in the corners but these just never come up for sale.  This isn't Mac related but it is a hard-to-find Apple...

    Snuci's Finds...

Bought a broken Apple PowerCD on ebay for $40.  Hopefully I can diagnose and fix it.  At least I have a base and power supply if all else fails. http://www.ebay.com/itm/253193158211 Anyone seen an issue like this on a PowerCD?  I won't have it for a little while to check but I'm starting to do...

    Apple 3 LLF diskette image

I am guessing the LLF ROM chip might be the same as the one for the Lisa?  They are here:  http://bitsavers.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de/pdf/apple/disk/profile/firmware/

Mine, which is a full retail version with proper bottom and sticker, has a IIGS marked board.  This looks like a prototype to me.  Awesome find!

Albert Computer - Apple II clone and then some.

Thanks Gorgonops. I had the Tech manual already but not the floppy cable doc.  I do have a couple of 8" drives but don't have my floppy creation set up yet.   I have a TRS-80 floppy drive or two so that may work.  Creating those floppies is the issue right now. I'm trying to get the most...

Albert Computer - Apple II clone and then some.

I don't think those drives are compatible.  Lobo was a drive manufacturer and they also made clone Apple II drives.  I have seen those pop up once in a while.  The lack of documentation  prevents me from trying a regular drive at this point.  At some point, I'll take some time an work on it.  I...

How about a Lobo Systems Max-80?  Still hoping to find the matching floppy drives one day.

Albert Computer - Apple II clone and then some.

Rather then clog up the eBay Finds thread with Albert computer information, I figured I'd make a new post in the appropriate area. olePigeon wrote: The Albert computer doesn't have 80 column support but it does have built-in Taxan hi-res RGB.  I'm going to scan the manual but it's got some...

    Snuci's Finds...

Unfortunately, the owner doesn't have the hard drive nor mentioned the history when asked.  It will remain a mystery.  Thanks for sharing your experiences. As thanks, this one's for you Trash80... My ThunderScan unboxing in 2017 :)   Extra pics posted here: ...

    Snuci's Finds...

You asked "TLDR or reasonable synopsis?".  I answered with, it's reasonable.  To be honest, I had to look up "Too Long Didn't Read".  Being in IT Tech support/ Jack of all trades at the time, I wasn't into desktop publishing but knew of it from our Marketing department.  They were using Macs but...

    Snuci's Finds...

It is reasonable.  I will ask the owner if they have any history on the computer but I tend to find those who owned a computer since the beginning would normally mention that and have other accessories like software floppies, etc.  I will ask the original owner if they know what it was used for...
