I'm about to go on a repair spree of various stuff among which are three SE analog boards and an SE/30 logic board. I was hoping there might be a nice parts list or shopping cart somewhere that could save me time hunting some of the stuff I need to order. While I'm at it, are there any AB...
@mg.man Was there a reason you decided to go for 27MHz? I figured I would try for the maximum 29.5MHz they reported to still have usable serial ports in that link. Oh I also went through my old Mac related bookmarks and found that same page I just forgot about it since whenever I originally...
You may be the first person to try using dock mode with multiple SCSI IDs on the internal SCSI port of the PowerBook. It was never designed to work that way so I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks things. I've been meaning to try this but I have never gotten around to it.
I take it you're using some form of SCSI - SD device emulating more than one drive? I've always wondered what would happen if you put one in dock mode while emulating multiple devices since the machine was never intended to have more than one internal drive. I'd be curious to see if anyone has...
The 4-port listing only specifies it works in X. The other one lists both 9 & X. If you're willing to pay that much maybe you should ask @aperezbios if the new SATA card is available to buy yet. No idea how much it will be but they're very nice. Can even use an m.2 SATA drive on it!
I haven't tried it either but I think it is super cool that they are working on it. I hope they get it working good enough to include in the main branch some day.
I was looking at the PowerBook G3 tech notes for other reasons and accidentally came across this line:
"SCSI controller implemented using the Mesh design"
I use an AOYUE INT 950+ 65W and it has both an iron and tweezers.
Really great value for what it is. Here's a link:

 Oh my. That is a thing of beauty. Thoroughly exceeds my expectations. I knew something like that had to exist.
I think I saw one of those Panasonics when I was searching eBay for a drive that would look good with a PowerBook. It is definitely a good match. I think it is neat that...
I love my design language appropriate PowerBook peripherals but one thing I haven't seen is a PowerBook grey external CD ROM drive. Where there ever any made? Would love pictures if you have one.
Interesting. I haven't used different versions of system 6 enough to observe major differences. Could you elaborate a little? This is exactly the kind info I was hoping for. There is so little about pre system 7 on the internet and almost nothing at all pre 6. I'd really appreciate any...
I would but pushing the clock higher on the Centris board breaks the on board Ethernet which I really want to be able to use under A/UX. If A/UX wasn't so picky about hardware compatibility I would just try using an add on Ethernet adapter.
