Was installed a while back, running 10.4.11, I dont believe there is any gunk, i cleaned it out but didn't seem to make any difference. Using the white Apple brick that came with it.
Oh and a zapped the pram, with no joy.
Hey there
MikeatOS does this look like what you have?
Here are the image of the drive

My touchpad has started acting up, sometimes the cursor will just freeze up. If it freezes over a window, the cursor will sit there, but i'll be able to scroll up and down the down, like I'm doing a 2 finger scroll.
Anyone else heard of things like this happening before?
Thats a funny coincidence, I bought 2x256mb sticks from there and bought another 2 last night after I discovered the ram doesn't like sitting along side what is already in my G3. I was getting kernel panics left, right and center :(
I'll post a picture of the drive in the morning, thank you for the pictures. I'm still not sure if i have the same drive as you. The labels certainly look the same.
Just want to make people aware of this.
I bought myself a Toshiba SD-R6472, believing the original drive fascia would fit on it. I came to install it today and it does not work! So unless my drive is different to the one in the photo on page 1 of this thread, I would advise caution.
I should probably make a few things clear.
I was considering the G4 PB because I am A. Getting sick to the back of my teeth with the latest version of windows B. Tired of the lackluster performance of the Acer and the crap build quality. One thing you can say about the last line of PowerBooks...
Hey guys
For my birthday, my father bought me a Acer V3-112P, in the months that I've had it. I just haven't been able to get along with it, the keyboard is really annoying compared to my Pismo and the touchpad is a nightmare. To left click you literarlly need your finger in the bottom left...
I'd like to get USB working on this machine. I have a USB card that works in OSX, but not 9.1. Also I tried installing the USB driver off the OS 9 disc but it says it's not compatible with my system. I extracted the extensions but it didn't work.
So I have spent a good part of today, swapping the ram in and out of this machine. Then this evening after the final straw or was it the last kernal panic. I took all the memory out, put it to one side and picked up random chips from the pile i had on the floor. Two odd 256 modules, two odd...
I know that all the PCI cards in this machine are alright, it's just the memory. Mixing modules is always going to be hazard prone, which is why I've bought four matching 256mb modules. Hopefully this will work, they are PC100, so i'm hoping that will help.
I just want to get this machine...
Thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind. Today I've been swapping out ram modules trying to find a setup which does not lead to the machine crashing. I have 2 pairs of 256mb PC133, both from different manufacturers. The Powermac was having none of it, so I took the memory out and tried other...
Well it looks like what I though was in my Powermac and what is, are two totally different subjects lol
I have
G4 500mhz CPU
512mb Ram
ATI Rage 16mb
Ultra66 Adaptor
PCI USB card
Ralink Wifi Card
Think my first step will be to upgrade the ram, upgrade to 10.4.11 and look for a better...
