I've only got one of the boxes but you saw all the ROM chips I have. I didn't test them all. I figured the highest ROM rev had the best chance of working. Plugged it in, saw it turn orange, pushed button again and boom. I'm going to work on it next week as I'll have a lot more free time.
Yeah thus far I've only gotten a red light until I plugged that bad boy in... then boom. I about pissed myself when an image came on the screen. I actually never tried to plug it in before to see if anything happened but figure the message about the green button wouldn't come up unless the box...
The question is, what OS should I try? I've got the extensions, most of em, for the unit now as well. I really want to get this one fully booting. Is there anyone who has gotten it to produce a picture like that either? Let's make this happen for everyone.
TA DA!!!!!!! All it requires is the correct ROM chip in order to work. Sequence to boot:
1) Turn on Power
2) Wait for Red power light to turn orange
3) Hit power again
4) Plug in to TV
Now with the extensions I have I should be able to put them on an external HD and maybe get it working...
I've finally had a little time to dig out the ROM chips for the Apple TV Box, and thanks to Strimkind for sending me the extensions... I'm going to try and mess around with it next week as I've got some time off.
I'm super excited. The only area that will be visible (damage) is attached... Does anyone have any recommendations on how to try and fill/dye/clean up those cracks a bit?
As the saying goes, beggars can't be choosers. While I'd like to have a PERFECT LPGA PowerBook they seem to evade me so I took what I could get.
Rather than starting a new topic I figured I'd just continue on this tread. The LPGA PB showed up today, I knew it had some damage, wasn't working...
From my experience if its formatted as Mac OS Extended you should be able to copy/paste/drag/drop with no issues. The problems comes when you've formatted the OS 9 drive as Mac OS Standard and copying isn't feasible.
Forget all that 5400/7200 RPM nonsense. CF cards and adapters are so cheap and readily available these days just make the swap. It will be the last thing you repair in your TAM for years to come and no sense in continuing to limp along with old/dying technology. I don't know if it's just me but...
Yes you can but the only supported version of 10.4 on a G5 (at least quad core) is 10.4.11. Anything else crashes and creates panics. Don't waste your Saturday like I did trying to figure that out.
Dude you've got a keen eye.
So that's called a IMP slot machine. It's from the 30's-40's and would have been located in bars across america. It was a penny cigarette gambling machine/gum ball machine. The reel has different brands of cigarette, and should you hit the jackpot then the bartender...
