Wait so I'm looking here and I see your m5120 but in a pic it looks like it has a backlit screen but doesn't have a backlight upgrade kit. Or, am I see thing?
Thanks folks. I think some of the issue might be the switch on the back. I'm also going to replace the fuse in the power supply. For now I'm thinking about getting a toggle switch from RadioShack to jerry rig it unless I can remove it entirely and get it going. Thoughts?
Got the ANS from eBay. It doesn't work, which is how it was described. I suspect it might be the PSU but have a few questions. Do they keys being in a certain position/lock engaged a certain way stop the unit from working/not work? Anything helps and thanks.
Dude, SO jelly. I really want a Turbo board. I have a sample Proto-A chip in my 68040 25Mhz but a Turbo would be real sweet. I actually have a chip from a Turbo board but I don't think it's as simple as just swapping it out.
I hope you bought it because of the dimension board in it... ;) I would have bought it but didn't see the BIN. I would love to max my Cube out with 2-3 dimension boards.
Yeah too bad that back light upgrade kit cable ripped. Those are worth a pretty penny and rarely come up for sale. Coolest portable on the block really.
Wasn't me but without the correct ROM don't think it's going to matter. That card though, IS really cool. We are so close with the ROM chips I have I don't think it will be long before we get one working :)
Ok sounds good. I got lucky and the first one I popped in worked. I assume the ROM chips with the same rev and version should produce the same results. I'm happy to send them on once I have a chance to confirm. Always fun bring back something from being dead 20 years! Thanks everyone
Yeah I was really excited when I saw that pop up on the screen. Did a little jig in my back shed for sure. I'll keep everyone posted and hope we can get one of these working to get many more working soon.
I think that 7.1 and 7.5 are going to have the best shot of working. After looking at the OS release dates, I think 7.6 isn't the best idea. Given it was released after the box, it might have some issues running. 7.1 was before this box probably started production and 7.5 was probably undergoing...
