Tempting! Thank you. I’m still on the fence with this Mac plus but I’ll def reach out if I get it. $30 seems really fair! Can I assume it’s tested and works?

Is this too much $ and work for a noob.

I am a total noob when it comes to compact Macs but I’ve been wanting to get into getting one and restore it for fun. I found this one of fb marketplace for $100. I looked on eBay and it seems These “powers on” for parts pluses go for about $15 to $30 plus that much again in shipping, so I...

Will this 2011 LG “Super Multi DVD Rewriter” optical drive fully work/be plug-and-play in my 700 MhZ G4 iMac?

Oh ok. Great. So likely no rom issue. These aren’t like non Mac hard drives that (maybe?) need to be flashed (I think. Not sure. I feel like I’ve read that somewhere.)

Will this 2011 LG “Super Multi DVD Rewriter” optical drive fully work/be plug-and-play in my 700 MhZ G4 iMac?

If not plug and play, what’s the process to make it work, if any. Some sort of ROM reflash?

Did I break it? I think I broke it. I blame the Chiefs

On a 270c who’s keyboard works (sort of) I Disassembled and cleaned the corrosion off keyboard membrane wire traces with an eraser (while watching The Chiefs fumble the Super Bowl — mistakes were made) :/ In doing so my distracted brain 1) I knocked off the shift lock LED. 2) I also didn’t...

Cheapest, easiest way to get video out on my duodock (with a 270c loaded inside)

What is Cheapest, easiest way to get video out on my duodock (with a 270c loaded inside)? If avoidable I don’t want to try to buy and ship a big apple monitor with the DA-15 as I am just trying to determine the operating condition of my duodock to get it ready for sale. Is there some sort of...

    Can anyone ID this RAM?

It says “Mac Memory Inc.” “Max Plus” 1986 on the back. Is it for a Mac Plus? SE? Something else? Helping ID it for a friend. Thank you.

Making a PC video card work in a PowerPC?

Sorry I’m just getting back to this. I agree, as usual circuitboards posts are always splendid. It answered my question and gave me a lot to digest. Also Thank you Byrd for the heads up that the card I pointed to would be a headache to convert, what cards would fair easier and what type of rig...

Making a PC video card work in a PowerPC?

Seems any good PowerPC compatible “Mac Edition” AGP (and PCI) video card (64GB, 128GB etc) out there are exponentially higher in cost than their PC counterpart. (See example below). Is there a way for an avg user/layperson like myself to make one of these work in, say, a G4 GE? If so can...

Procedure to load OS9 on separate partition after OSX

So, major breakthrough on this. Turns out I had what looks like 3 things going on that had to be rectified. 1) I wasn’t checking the “locked” box on the iso before burning. I’m learned on the MacGarden comments for the 9.2.1 page that this will make a coaster every time if it’s not checked. 2)...

    Apple-branded "Fast Ethernet 10/100BaseT card" (PCI) "SA0025"

You're correct about the Tome extractor. I used it to get usb extensions installed when I installed an OS without the card installed. Problem is it looks like all the Ethernet extensions are still there but I’d need a definitive list of what to look for from Someone to confirm.

Procedure to load OS9 on separate partition after OSX

So part of the problem is I don’t have an OS 9 Disk that will actually boot. I slow 1x burned a 9.0 and a 9.2.2. using MacGarden offerings but Neither will boot holding down C. It tries then kicks out and moves on the next good OS which is OS 10.4. I will try your link to get a 9.2.1. I’ll be...
