    Usability of 10.3.9 in 2017

Totally unscientific: Let's take an LG G5 on Geekbench and compare to a PC with an AMD processor that would have shipped around that time. Now remember that phone has hardware acceleration for video, and the fact XP is a pig on any HW you throw at it.

just some random thinkies: Is this this the right function signature or name for main? Are you using a SIOW project? (SIOW is basically, give me stdio shims)

    Usability of 10.3.9 in 2017

By guess: TLS libraries for old OS X are too old to support things like TLSv1.2. Grafting on newer OpenSSL could be difficult. My recommendation: Have you considered implementing the needful^W SSH VFS for ye olde Mac OS?

    Ever Heard of cc:Mail?

The cc:Mail importer dates back before HTML email, and RTF was the only way to do formatting. Of course, you had to put in in plain text; and make RTF optional, most people's mail clients couldn't do RTF. This is what you had to do as a compromise.

    Ever Heard of cc:Mail?

Have you considered just taking the mail files out and reverse engineering the format to extract it yourself? I wonder if there's anything to stop you.

    Ever Heard of cc:Mail?

Acrobat will happily spit out PDFs. Print as many emails as you can, and the resulting PDF file will happily load on modern machines. (PrintToPDF or abusing PostScript are free alternatives IIRC)

    PowerBook duo file transfer

No need to do any fiddling with a terminal if you have another Mac. Attach a printer cable to each Mac's serial port and set up AppleTalk over LocalTalk. Should Just Work.

Configuring MacIP gate on Debian server

There exist headless virtual machine tools - KVM makes a lot of sense. My server had ESXi and I quite liked that.

    iTunes Music Authorization

I'm pretty sure there's no DRM anymore, period. The songs you download will just have an Apple ID tag inside of them. Also, there is no rollback of iOS versions unless you've been careful and kept your SHSH blobs.

    iTunes Music Authorization

Authorize another machine, and download the music on that. There's no DRM on the songs anymore, so you can just copy the entire library over.

Getting gifs onto an Apple IIGS

GitHub lets you download the whole repository as a Zip file, instead of having to clone. On the top-right of the page, the option should be there. The easiest way you'd do it is to put the GIFs in the same directory as the script, and change the working directory with the cd command to the...

Getting gifs onto an Apple IIGS

https://github.com/nategri/apple2/tree/master/animation_2color From what it looks like, the .do file is a disk image containing the player. To make files for it, you use the hganimate script there. It implies that the files should be in a specific resolution before conversion.

    iMac G4 700MHz - 10.4 or 10.5?

Quad G5s (and similar HW) are getting particularly anemic at the web, and those are by far the fastest PPC systems. I can't imagine a single 700 MHz G4 would be pleasant for browsing the web at all. I agree with the sentiment that you could appreciate the machine for what it's good at, and not...
