Sure - but all parts and labor it'd probably cost $400 to make profitably (yoke board, main board and wiring harnesses, driver development, assembly, testing, packaging, etc, etc) - and hence wouldn't be made. Easier to make a clone of artmix's boards.. he gets $200 for a board with 1 pal on it!

Well the powercache apparently works in the se/30 using the iicx adapter (which is a dumb adapter with no additional circuitry). I haven't inspected it but I think the same chips are present on both cards - so it would be a matter of harvesting one card to populate the other.

I think drivers and software compatibility would be the biggest hurdle for a new accelerator.  Some sort of "multi-core" switchable board would be ideal though. e.g you could put something in the CPU slot (not the PDS) of a se/30 and be able to choose whether to have a 030, 040 or supercharged...

Yea that's just a overclocking device. Spectrum engineering evolved into newer tech I think. This is pretty similar to the newer tech variable speed overdrive. Not sure about this one, but with the VSO you can control the overclock in software which a nice feature that lets you find the stable...

Although I have a cracker, the easiest way I find is to position the compact face down on a pillow/towel/etc, undo screws, give the sides side a quick "one-two" slap then lift (holding on to both sides at once) - comes straight off.

bunsen: WinUAE is an easy option if you want to get amiga stuff running. There is no reason why you must use amiga hardware.. But given you want actual hardware, this is way better than most existing 50mhz amigas. . It benches almost as fast as an a4000 while retaining 030 compatibility. IMO...
