OK, X on the 68k Macs would probably work, and work well, if there's a port of kdrive to 68k. I don't know if there is, but if so then that's awesome, if not then can someone port it? For those who don't know, kdrive was previously called smallx, and it's designed to run well on low spec, low...

Apple II gs the best Apple computer ever.

/me has a horribly beaten up ROM 03 GS. It was a school computer and it has 'Foreign Language Dept.' melted into the front. It's actually not too bad other than that.

http://www.mac.linux-m68k.org/docs/gettingstarted.php is uberhelpful for setting up 68k Linux, makes it very easy. NOTE: Most of the links are broken. The items you want to download are http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/linux-mac68k/Penguin-19.sit for Penguin Booter...

Apple II gs the best Apple computer ever.

Quite possibly. Just got one and it seems to be much better than the early Macs. Sadly selling new computers that are backwards compatible with old ones has not been a good tactic for non-PCs, and definitely not at that period.

Could we add a Linux/Unix forum?

Precisely! Also, the easy package management makes it perfect for older Macs(no slow compilation, and closer to the ease of install of Mac OS progs.)

Could we add a Linux/Unix forum?

Debian Linux keeps a surprising number of my machines useful. I'd love to see a forum dedicated to 68k/older PPC Linuxes.

    PowerBook 5300c problem...

OK, I got a PowerBook 5300c a bit ago. I put it on sleep with the battery fully charged, and the AC adapter unplugged. Now, the power LED is solid green and I can't get it out of sleep even when it's plugged in. I've tried unplugging everything including the battery but it doesn't do much. The...
