I had to recap a couple of these and I'd say it's a must at some point.
Did you open it to see how's inside? (specially on the bottom side of the PCB, where the cap goo trends to go)
I did some mods too to my LC475,,,
- Full 68040
- OC to 33MHz
- VRAM upgraded to 1MB
- Quieter fan and fan speed controller
- PDS Ethernet card
- RASCSI
It's so fun to tinker with this machine!
Nice machine. It's the one I use the most. Always on my desk.
I guess that thing connected to the battery holder is a coin cell wrapped in duct tape, right?
It really depends if you want to create a clone (same PCB and components of the original) or a replica (same functionality but different PCB and chips).
Briel's replica will give all the Apple-1 experience, but if you want a clone, then the route to follow is quite different... There's an open...
Indeed I saw this listing... and I also found this video.
This makes me thing that the disk set was something like this that I just found here:
It says it was System 3.2/Finder 5.3... I'll check in the garden.
Cool, this helps.
I think I'd like to do something like the set that came with the first production run (see next post), but making the replicas of System 5 is also a nice bonus.
Hey,
recently I made these replicas of the floppies coming with a 128K or 512K, to complete my 512K.
I used as reference this page to a Museum.
I'd like to do the same for the Plus, but I don't find a clear reference of which disk came with the Plus. I only found this one, but I guess some...
Hello,
I use one with my Plus. It works neatly.
Drive images are supported. HDA is the extension that the BlusSCSI expects, but renaming it should work if its a drive image.
I tried this with a Rodime enclosure and it didn't work because the power supply was expecting more consumption than the...
You need AppleTalk in all connected computers.
To test it you can share a folder in one and you should see it in the other.
About the sit/bin files... there's no single rule... in some cases you'll find "dsk" or "img" files you can load directly in the Floppy Emu, in other cases you'd need to...
No worries... we are here to help each other...
I can't test now, but if the Network Installer Disk has an "Install" utility, it would prepare the HD for you. Alternatively you can do it manually by copying the AppleTalk extension and Network control panel to the System Folder of your HD
About...
I don't have a Floppy Emu (yet) so I can't answer.
I use BlueSCSI and there you can find HD images of 6.0.8 that are preinstalled with AppleTalk, but I think you can easily duplicate the image you already have in the Emu and add the required extensions.
In principle to have a system ready to use networking you'd need to place some extensions in the system folder and control panel, as you see in the blog post. You could eventually have this in a floppy and boot from it, but it wouldn't be too practical.
As you have the floppy Emu it's easier...
