Depending on your needs, you can use a RaSCSI to emulate a video adapter:
https://github.com/akuker/RASCSI/wiki/PowerView---SuperView
It's not built in to the main branch yet, and I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it should work
I believe the .dsk is a boot floppy of System 6 - I don't think BlueSCSI can use that to boot, but I haven't tried.
The BlueSCSI will ignore all files not listed in its naming convention. So your non-hda files (including zip and dsk) will be ignored. I believe those other files are useful for...
I believe the Floppy Emulator can also take HDA images, but I haven't used one so I'm not completely sure. BlueSCSI is cheaper though, and will likely be much faster on the SCSI bus instead of floppy.
Throwing in a suggestion for a RaSCSI - a little more complicated than a BlueSCSI, but has...
I was able to figure this out - the DaynaPort disk image was self-extracting and that only worked on System 7.5 and later. I talked to the owner of the RaSCSI bootstrap and he's added DiskCopy images that will work on earlier versions. In the end I just went ahead and set it up on 7.5, and it...
I seem to be having issues with the installer I found for 3.5 (crashes instead of doing anything), and 2.1 mounts the image but the system reports that it's not formatted as a Mac disk and needs to be formatted. Double clicking on the image gives me an error: "ShrinkWrap was unable to load a...
Hi all,
I'm trying to set up ethernet on my Mac SE using my RaSCSI and the instructions here: https://github.com/akuker/RASCSI/wiki/Dayna-Port-SCSI-Link
However, I'm having trouble getting the DaynaPort Drivers to work. When I try to unpack the linked .sit file, Stuffit quits immediately...
To close out this thread - the RaSCSI came in, and while using it, all my issues went away. I can use images, move files, and even boot System 7.5.5 without any crashes or other problems. The BlueSCSI is most likely bad. I'll probably have a follow up thread in the future when I'm motivated to...
My understanding is that SE/30 only takes PDS cards designed for the SE/30. The non-compact Macs (plus the Color Classic) use the LC PDS standard (well, I'm not sure if it's an actual standard, but I believe these are mostly interchangeable with each other).
You'll want to make sure your card...
Definitely check the jack, and the impedance on the speaker itself as well.
You'd probably want to just look for an exact replacement from another Mac Classic. I'm not sure if the same speaker is used in any other models. I know that MacEffects sells a new speaker for the SE & SE/30...
I decided to order a RaSCSI and see how that works. I wanted to get one anyways, and this way I'll be able to tell whether it's my computer or the BlueSCSI.
I couldn't get a good reading on the BlueSCSI itself or on the SCSI port, but on Molex I got a solid and consistent 5.03V. I tried another time powering the BlueSCSI with USB just to check, and once again saw no difference in behavior. Based on that, unless there's something else to check I'm...
Here’s what the board looks like, in case you can see any jumpers that look like they may be in the wrong slot.
SCSI ID is set in software, if that’s what you mean - you choose per image what ID it should have.
I’ll check the voltage tomorrow, thanks for finding that!
Currently externally, however I also had this behavior when using the internal cable. I believe termination is set correctly - my understanding is that if it didn't, it wouldn't get power at all? Additionally, I've tried giving it external power on USB, but didn't notice a difference. Not sure...
