Or I get some kind soul to sell me a neckboard with blanking plate and new wiring loom. It is now in the UK and I cant wait to get it.
Mmm very much so. The one in my brothers machine is not as nice as that. Mind you water damage and age can do that I guess.
Yep - looks can be deceptive...
poo. Oh well ebay refund on it then I guess. Less work replacing only one chip hahaha.
I've worked out what the issue is with the floppy.

Discussions on PSU replacement. Not necessary to read. The important...
mm. Currrently the Dimmo accelerator is awaiting a recap. Analog and logic board have been done and some nice sausage on here has very kindly sold me a new wiring loom and neck-board... 😉so any flakiness should be ironed out after that's all done.
Oddly its fine with everything connected...
Hi there
Just wondered if anyone has one of the above boards with 40Mhz Marked parts (40A) and replaced with 50Mhz (50C) revisions. Still running at 50 Mhz Im aware there'll be minimal performance difference, but with the 50C revision I'm sure there's a downsize to 0.8 micron technology...
I'm going with the Pico +adapter in the top link version, about to send a 160w pico to the person refurbing my brother's SE 30. It too has had a complete recap and is heavily expanded : 50 Mhz Diimo 030 accelerator and a network card. I have a 120w power brick, the original sony PSU is...
Fan /airflow is also being upgraded. Theres a BlueSCSI and no HD. It is also having a full recap as is the Accelerator expansion card.
~But will bear in mind replacing the wires.
This is what my thinking was as well. My Brother's SE30 has a Dimmo 50mhz, and an ethernet card. Executive decision recently by me was to pico it. It still works but is proving more cost effective/efficient when refurbing the machine.
ooo FX-uck, to coin a phrase. Poor thing.
That's nasty. Soo glad my brother's SE30 (still on the original battery dated May '89) hadn't exploded like this. Got off lightly with gooey but not exploded caps and no board damage. Machine still in working order. All now remedied of course.
Well I don't have the mac at the moment as it is away in ireland getting recapped.
Well it (the BMOW screen) prompts you to choose ROM or ram disk, then regardless of what you do, within seconds the machine gets on with it and the normal boot proceeds.
TBH first thing I did was buy a purple...
The BMOW splash gives way to "Welcome to Macintosh" - I have a spare IIfx rom as well haha. It is what my brother used before to enable 128MB ram. (with Mode 32) You don't have to flash the BMOW ROM, there's other standard means of using a custom ROM without the compression, but still giving...
