no there is no way what so ever to get beyond the 64 mb ceilling with out re designing the powerbookand creating your own motherboard good luck with that one you can use a cf card as virtual ram which is faster then the stock hd or ide controller

there was a lowendmac article where somebody reported that booting woudl take 4 minutes but othr then that there was no noticble differenc eunfortunaly i cant find that article any more

8.1 is only availble as an upgrade from apple get a os 8 disc in that case

the 6 gig one is a bit over kill link 2 and 3 are in my oinion the most interesting i'd go for those but that would be me

i'll have a 20 gig hd kicking around very soon but even that is overkill i think
