Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
I gave that a shot, but still no dice. :/ I think PRAM battery is dead, also, but the other boards fire up without any battery installed - could either be the capacitors, or maybe it’s just dead?
Thanks! I've never really seen a compact Mac before in my life until these came. :)
Another member, @KnobsNSwitches, had actually messaged me about this earlier. I've just responded, but as I wish to send off the entire system (or at least entire thing without boards, analog and...
It has been a little while since I've posted any new finds. I waited until I received my 3rd Color Classic II today...did not expect to be acquiring this many. The first one, not pictured, came with broken front bezel on three places, and half the screen is green-tinted .... probably degaussing...
Wow, that's awesome. Congratulations! I've hardly been able to find cartridges for mine, besides the two that come with the kit. (I've tried to deal with someone I know who has three I don't have, including the elusive CPU Vol. 4 that never shows up anywhere, but he wants to sell the whole...
Recently imported a couple of CC ii, they both worked initially. The second one I acquired started right up, but had a "sparking" sound every time it was booted, and every time it shut down (CRT off). I noticed the fan was not working, and the back casing was not flush against the front casing...
I sold one for close to $100 a couple of years ago. Took a little time, and I believe I had to relist a time or two, but the right buyer found it eventually.
Interesting bit of history, I've definitely heard of Jaz disks/drives from Iomega, but never knew of the company Syquest producing their own medium, or the company itself.
Appreciate the heads up! I'll probably limit my usage of MO to my Wallstreet then, but would be a dream to be able to...
Gracias! No sir, no FDD. I guess it was left in the PB and sold it as part of that system. No complaints about any missing FDD ;)
Hate it when sellers ship fragile/expensive/rare goods in bubble wrap. Or insufficient packaging anyways. If you're looking for a replacement, looks like there is...
Gladly! From my limited experience, between the Zip and MO drives I've used in both the 3400c and Kanga, neither were ready to run off the bat on Mac OS 9.1. I think the support was better for Zip straight from the OS install in earlier Mac OS version. At least for me, it didn't work just...
I wish I knew this earlier. I might pull it up someday. I've already removed the Extensions/Control Panel to HDT since I'm not using it right now. Even with the Fujitsu drivers, still seeing the "Eject" option greyed out under Special, but it works fine dragging the disk to Trash.
No worries...
The TechStep arrived on the same day as a PB Kanga I ordered last week! Yeah yeah, so I've mentioned that I sold my first Kanga last year and wanted to get out of this collecting business (before joining this awesome community). Yet here I am, now with another one. Meh.
Original listing of...
Weird looking computer! Oddly, that Compaq reminds me of my family's first computer, an Acer Aspire (we got one in 1995 or 96). All black though, but the monitor seemed to blend with the desktop base. Sam's Club salesperson told us on the specs, it would be the last computer we'd ever have to...
You, sir, are an amazing human being. This software fixed my issues with the MO drive, and there is no more dialogue box after boot up! Now, it just works like a regular drive, the way it is supposed to. I can finally enjoy it the way it was made to be. Thanks so much for sharing this here. ...
Wow thanks a lot!! I was looking all over and thought maybe the software with the Fujitsu Dynamo230 might be worth giving a shot. Currently out of town, but I’ll put this on the system as soon as I get back! Do you have the same drive?
Haha, thank you! When the MO drive is set up, it’s an okay experience. But working it out is enough headache for one day. Zip has an advantage of already having drivers with the OS :)
Picked up a Kanga recently, you may have seen the auction up before: ...
This thread really took off. And I had no idea what MO was! I appreciate all the information! Finally, the drive arrived, and I used some bits of info from everything I've learned from you guys, and got it running on my 3400c. Spent half the day trying to get it to work though. It's close...
Appreciate your interest! I was about to sell one to a member previously, but the last 550c I imported turned out to have a 25MHz version from a 520c instead of the original 33MHz card...previous owner must have swapped it out (ironically, he was selling a 520c at the same time he had the 550c...
Grrr...everything was working just fine until yesterday. Just out of the blue, internet stopped working when I booted, but other devices connected to the router were fine.
I fixed this by reloading the software from the Japanese set, which apparently is an older extension. Then I had to reload...
Teeny tiny collection here :)
By order of acquisition...

Expecting to receive a TechStep soon. Cannabolized a PB 520, but the skeleton is still here.
