Absolutely agreed, I can usually turn something like this up by searching the great GOOG over the past 3 years and finding somebody that's sitting on one, offered one for sale, talked about one and willing to sell etc. But striking out so far. Any LC upgrade in fact!
And then for you Uni...
Per the question "why not just upgrade the MB" for some reason my brain is requiring that I upgrade the original MB so that I'm using a "pure" LC. Why? I don't know. Kind of like I don't know why I now have a closet full of Mac stuff :)
I am in the market for any and all of the LC PDS...
Ok following link above
Looked up a SIMM labelled gm71c1000j80
Which according to that first link is lucky good star

I saw this one too, I'm wondering what's driving the interest?
is it the 128mb of hard to find ram? or the Digidesign Samplecell?
Or are IIFX's in nice cosmetic condition just that hard to find now?

Digging through my boxes this weekend, turned up 8 of these SIMMS from a IIFX:
The writing on the chips says HY514100J-70
Searching google makes me think these are 1MB SIMMS but they are not clearly labeled - any ideas?
See attached photo too
Howdy all -
I've read here and there that 7.5.5 is the best optimized for the '040s, wondering what you think will run the fastest on an 840av that will be used primarily for retro-gaming?
Appreciate any input!
Z
I am cobbling together an 840av from parts found here and there (thank you LuckyBob for his case / power supply etc!) and managed to track down a motherboard on EBAY.
It was sold in "working condition" but there is a good amount of cap goo on the board and I noticed that it has a slot I hadn't...
My Quadra 950 boots perfectly but does not seem to want to play with a keyboard or mouse - neither work at all at any point in the boot process or otherwise - any ideas? Thanks in advance!
