So this is a candidate, but it's 16:9 instead of the needed 4:3

And here's a 4:3 with VGA that could work and is set @ 640x480...
LOL! What a line, and I am compelled.
Unfortunately I don't think Win7 is going to be happy with that configuration and the network card is the Presto Plus Accelerator that needs the drivers installed in the first place.
Regarding ResEdit - brilliant idea, will report back and thank you!
Ok, step one achieved - have the 12" Case and got the monitor guts out without electrocuting myself.

There is a roughly 11.5" diagonal on this screen in open space.
I think an 11" panel should do the trick to allow for some edging.
So who's got a line on a VGA compatible /...
I'm sure this has been covered 100x before but I can't find any clear threads - maybe somebody else has a link handy?
I use a Windows 7 desktop as my daily
I bought a USB 1.44mb floppy drive
I use HFVExplorer to read / copy to / from 1.44mb floppy...
Great info - thanks everybody who contributed and I love hearing that others are thinking along the same lines - if anybody can dig up that compact mac thread i'd love to learn more -
EDIT - I found several images of people working on compacts and getting LCDs in there and that is pretty !@%...
I am 90% sure that this is a dangerous sign of my budding senility, so reader beware.
But I'm wondering how I could go about fitting an LCD panel into an 12" Apple RGB monitor (The LC's monitor "mate").
Like literally pull the CRT and guts out of a 12" RGB and stick in a comparable LCD that...
After an extensive search I finally tracked down a guy who had a Sonnet Presto Plus card, struck a deal and it just arrived!
In reading other threads on this board Sonnet's support has emailed drivers etc, I've reached out to them but wondered if anybody had the drivers handy for 7.5.5 or 7.6.1...
Ok, update to this thread.
I would estimate that there are ~50 different SIMMS in this goodie bag I got (see pic @ end of thread).
I got the bag from a guy that upgraded a number of IIx's to IIfx boards.
So in theory these are all standard-era simms, but upon further investigation there seems...
Absolutely right and I have been scouring the ends of the internet making solicited and unsolicited efforts to get one :)
If anybody has one and wants a solid offer please PM me, I also have some good stuff I'd be open to trading:
- Variety of accelerators eg Radius Rocket, Daystar Turbo...
Haha - I ask myself the same thing - the short answer is nostalgia!
Getting the LC into our house in 6th or 7th grade was a life changer - just about everything to come afterwards has been tied to development / comp engineering and it started with this !%@!%@!# machine.
If only it could have...
I've gotten my hands on a DayStar Turbo 040, ideally I'd like to use this in an original Macintosh LC.
I seem to recall that when I actually got the LC ~20 years ago that there was a special LC PDS adapter that would allow you to fit the Daystar Turbos in, and this seems to be backed up by...
I just picked up a large bag of IIx ram.
I'd like to test the Simms and figure out size etc
Problem is I do not have a IIx :)
I do, however have an lc and LC II - would they work in that?
I've heard there is a 10mb limit for the lc so if the Simms are larger than the 2 slots allow I'm out...
Aaaaaaand I'm back after 20 mins researching that upgrade and potential of sticking a m68060 into an old mac. Not going to happen.
So cool. Dug up a Cyberstorm @ EBAY that recently sold + pic below too...
Just picked up one of these guys:
http://www.forcedperfect.net/hardware/cards/applepowermacintoshupgradecard/
It states that it's a 66mhz 601 chip which "runs at twice the original 68040 processor speed of the computer it is installed in"
I'm missing something - it's @ 66mhz, but on an 840av...
