Nah, before my sister was born, he took all kinds of computing jobs all over the world. We were not the richest people back then, but we sure had a heck of a great time traveling. My dad's a computer Engineer.

What type of model? Slotloader or Trayloader? This makes a huge difference. Technically this should be the price for these iMacs, but their price is so low because they are commodity. 30-40$ is fine. I draw the line at 50$ for spending on an old mac.

I personally think you should buy 256 mb of ram (or more) and use OSX and swap the HD. Sounds like the HD is toasted...
