I don't know if this is of interest but a 128k showed up on my local Craigslist for $350. There is hope my friend!

I called and got dibs on the 400k drive (they look so cool) and the SCSI external hard drive. Can't afford the 128k though -...
Waaay off topic here BUT the SE-30 TV raised a few questions. The web page said the SE/30 ran Quicktime movies in a loop. Just what kind of Quicktime movies can you run on an SE/30?
I saw an eBay auction from Japan of Star Wars Quicktime clips on disk but it required 256 colors.
Prices have been really, really disappointing lately. I mean, who is buying this stuff?!
Here's an SE/30 motherboard going for $63 with $15 shipping with over an hour left...
I got a huge stack of old computing magazines through a Freecycle conquest a while back and have slowly been going through them. As I went through the December 1984 issue of A+, I noticed a few cool peripherals as well as MacStation. Check it out...
Isn't that insane? I wanted to collect a copy of all the original Apple software (MacWrite, MacPaint, MacTerminal, MacProject & MacDraw) and it isn't easy. Try nabbing a copy of MacPascal too. Lots of Hypercard though...and easily one of the best programs ever made.
Cary, the link I provided shows what Mac128 is talking about in explicit detail. Only, I've found you don't even have to change the extension. Mini vMac opens my .DMG files just fine. The link is a PDF and in the PDF is a direct link to the disk images (or you can make your own). It's pretty...
CaryMG, check out this link. It shows you how to make disk images using the game Dark Castle as an example. It's a really good tutorial for Mini vMac in general. I think it'll be useful for you!

Dan - I found a good link for System 3 finally. In fact, I found a good link for all of the previous Systems and quickly downloaded them. Do you still want/need a floppy?
Since you have a classic Mac you may want to pick up one of the long torx screwdrivers. BUT, I managed to find mine at Sears. I've bought a few from them and I suspect you'll find one at yours as well. Those aren't a big deal to hunt down.
If you have other programs on the SE test 'em out...
1 meg isn't much! I'd go over to the Trading Post section and get the computer up to 4mb. Microsoft Word is dreadfully slow on these Macs. If you want a good word processor I'd go for WriteNow 3 or 4. If you can't find it, let me know.
6.0.8 should buzz right along with 4mb. Welcome to...
If you go by eBay prices, it's a nice deal actually. What makes it even sweeter is it doesn't get destroyed in shipping and you actually went in and looked at it. If it looks good and runs nice...get it. Especially if you have the need for one.
You can't format 1.44mb for 800k use? I'm pretty sure I've done that. I bought an external 800k Apple drive to use with my SE/30. When I put a 1.44mb disk in the external drive it asks me to format it for 800k. I'm pretty sure I've used those in my Plus.
