Hi. Has anyone successfully used a USB WiFi stick for clamshell iBook? I obviously want to connect to the latest Airport Extreme but iBook Airport card is older connection (WEP?) but now I need WPA access. Maybe a USB WiFi would work? If so, which model please? Many thanks and love the new...

The hinge mechanism on my eMate has broken beyond repair. I want another eMate as a hinge repair appears very challenging. I can get one in Japan for $300 (too expensive for me!) so $15 is  a bargain.  Michael - currently in Japan.

On Mac  OS9 and prior, what is "open play"? I cannot open Pod Player because OS 9 cannot find Open Play. Thanks.

It has Firewire so I will try that. Reason: I have OS X on new Macs so I want to have at least 1 Mac with OS 8.5 or 9. I will opt for OS 9. After  that I hope to install PodRacer game, QTVR and Hypercard, maybe even Newton Connection kit if compatible ... all for demo purposes. 

 I have OS 9 CD (and 9.1 somewhere). The CD is ejected when I try to install OS so how do I actually install? Thanks.

Hello. I have an iBook G3 clamshell Graphite edition running OS X 10.3. I want to revert back to OS 8.5. I have the CD disk installer (an original). But when I insert the disk I cannot install the OS.  How do I install 8.5 please? Michael =

I too adore my Graphite iBook G3 but do you know of a solution to access Internet via current Airport Base Station?  The iBook's card only accesses WEP and I have set my Base Station to WPA for security (anyway it doesn't support WEP now as far a I know). I have the original flying saucer Base...

Ok.. let me see if I can indeed boot from the OS 9 CD.

My 'workaround ' today was to run Apple Remote Desktop from my iMac and 'Observe' the iBook. Bit slow but can view iBook's screen. Nice!

Hi. I have a clamshell iBook Graphite and it's far too slow running OSX 10.3. It runs OS 9 applications in Classic mode but I would like to set up as a native OS 9 machine. I have an original OS 9 CD-R so my question is: How do I do a clean install of OS 9 so I only have OS 9 on this iBook...
