Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
In fact it's the exact opposite! If you power the Lisa without an IO board installed she will immediately power up, and if all else is OK will display a 41 CPU card error.
It’s a composite video signal but it’s not standard NTSC it runs at a higher frequency (22 kHz ??). Anyway you’re not most likely to have anything laying around that would work with it.
Have you tried tweaking the parts on the back of the power supply for the brightness and the focus? Also at...
If you initially leave the drive cage out, I would not be afraid to try powering it up. The DataPower PS is pretty robust and if a RIFFA cap did blow it does not damage anything.
I have the Electorhome monitor for the Apple ///. Didn't know it also can act as a digital CGA display, wish I had the pinout for that 9pin to Din cable in the ebay listing..
The last row on the RamStack is normally un-populated, leaving the board with 1.5 MB of RAM. This plus a standard half meg memory board in the other mem slot makes a total of 2 MB of RAM, the most Lisa can address. Both MacWorks and 7/7 apps support the 2 Meg config.
Using the meter you have you could start by checking that each chip is getting power ( normally 5V DC ). Most of the time it will be +5V on the last pin of chip ( as in pin 14 of a 14 pin package ), and diagonally opposite will be ground ( pin 7 of a 14 pin package ). In the common dual in-line...
Hold down the apple key while you press the power button. This should take you to the environments window that should offer a "Restart" button to reboot without power down.
I have one of these cards and I can confirm it does not play nice with modern switches when plugged into the RJ45 port.
If I plug it into an older 10BaseT hub it works fine. Also, if I use a 10BaseT transceiver connected to the cards AUI port I can plug into modern switches OK. It appears to...
Thanks robin-fo! I learned something today. Never knew that the Macintosh hardware could support LocalTalk signaling on both ports at the same time. I wonder if doing this reduces the localtalk bandwith since both ports are using the same SCC chip. I will try to test this.
robin-fo, can please explain how the air-talk and the Localtalk networks are physically connected to the Perfroma 475 router? Are they both plugged into the same port on the computer? I get that AIR is creating logical zones, but if the both zones are connected together then all the traffic on...
Did anybody else here notice that the keyboard is plugged in backwards in the photos. Pin 1 is on the lower right. If this was powered up this way there could have been some fireworks.
If you want a Lisa, then it is a mistake not to try make a deal if you have this opportunity. My opinion is they are still very under-priced, and not going to get cheaper again - ever.
Here is why:
1. Using serial number tracking it's been recently discovered that the number of Lisa's made was...
I wanted to say thanks to all who contributed on this project. I have one of bdurbrow's pi hats and the whole setup is working perfectly! It is just amazing that tashtari was able to get the pic to bitbang the SDLC protocol. My dream is that someday this can be interfaced with netatalk...
OK, I stand corrected. The $25 price is for a kit and not "pre-made" as I had stated.
With the current global supply chain / chip shortage issues the prices of all this stuff will continue to rise even from the "non-greedy" sellers.
AFAIK, a SCSI DOM does not exist. ATA DOM's are only cheap because hundreds of thousands of them were made. Have a look into the BlueSCSI project: https://scsi.blue/
You can buy these pre-made for $25 plus the price of a SD card.
