I'd love to see that myself! I've got one of each of the LC family, (LC, LCII, LCIII+, and Performa 475) and the plastics are definitely brittle. New cases would be sweet!

My LCIII+ is having this same problem. My 12” LC monitor also died at the same time. Thinking I had a brownout or something. I had forgotten to unplug them after I used it last. The motherboard on mine is all recapped, had been working fine. I get a normal startup chime then the chimes of death...

Open Transport info

I've got my LC III+ online using an LC PDS ethernet card, thats ran to the ethernet port on my Apple AirPort Express router. I've got System 7.1 and I installed Open Transport 1.3. I found Open Transport easier to set up and use than MacTCP. I've attached a pic of my settings in my TCP/IP...

How does it run with the SCSI2SD in there? The old 80 meg drive in my LCIII+ is still chuggin away but its definitely the bottleneck of the system, especially when I'm on the web or on Hotline.  It downloads from my cable internet at about 180k sec to the RAM but then the hard drive has to write...

IMO these are the best monitors for the pizza box Macs. They look so perfect sitting on LC's or equivalent Performa's. I scored mine on eBay for like $45 bucks.  Its working perfectly, but I suppose I should do the caps sometime soon, just as preventive maintenance. Good job! :)
