Does anyone know of a website or in-print literature that provides a full glossary of all Hypercard script commands? I need to know how to get HyperCard to move a folder's contents and drop it on a printer.
The UV bulb are ballast-less florescent bulbs. The lamp itself has a ballast/transformer in it's base.
If it's any help, here's where I bought the bulbs on ebay:

I just bought a set of 4 UV bulbs for a nail dryer machine. However, each bulb shares the same socket mount as a CFL desk lamp I own. It works with it's standard 13W florescent bulb. Each UV bulb is a 9W bulb, and fits in the desk lamp perfectly. However, when I turn the lamp on (w/ the UV bulb...
I've given up on the CD drive, but I have come across a pleasant surprise:

The little converter board at the back of the drive will easily accept a standard 24x TEAC drive, which is extraordinarily common on ebay. For cheap.
When you touched the + wire without the - wire already touching, you may have allowed a brief voltage spike. As for the complete circuit problem, well perhaps the battery provided a place for the current to go.
So, if I understand correctly, you ran wires from the DC in outlet to the contacts of the PowerBook adapter's plug. While it was still plugged in. Without simultaneous current across the - and + contacts, just +.
To quote Bunsen:
Argh! I just spent the last 2 hours trying to fix the drive again. It was working fine until this morning, and suddenly it just stopped successfully mounting disks again. Any ideas?
Buying another 1400c? Seems wasteful.
I have found memory for it on We Love Macs, but it's ridiculously overpriced.
As for the Ethernet, is there any particular Ethernet PCMCIA card that you'd recommend?
My ultimate goal in upgrading is to max out the memory and add ethernet. I know this PB uses weird, proprietary memory cards; where would I find them for a good price? (And if anyone here can sell me the memory card that will give the the full 64MB, I'm open to offers.) Also, is there any way to...
No drive swap's needed: managed to fix it using Byrd's link. FYI It's the 12x model.
I am not interested in a replacement battery unit, since I can't imagine something already 13 years old being reliable for very long. I'd rather rebuild the dead one I have.
So far the working battery seems to...
Some updates: Battery 1 appears to work after all. I let the PB boot from it, and it got to the desktop no trouble. Haven't tested how long it lasts though.
Battery 2 is completely dead - does not charge at all. I have disassembled it, and instead of discovering standard AA size cells, there...
Just got in my new PB 1400c in today. Two batteries, and to be honest I'm not use if they work or not. It runs Mac OS 8.1, and the only indicator of battery status is the charge meter to the right of the clock.
Battery 1 indicates a full charge when inserted w/ AC power. Remove AC power, and...
