PowerBook medic is a good source, they also sell on eBay. Screens really just depend on what you can find. Might be easier to source a whole new screen + bezel + cable than the parts individually. May ask here or LEMSwap for parts machines.

That seems more like failing LCD panel to me. How's the external output?

It's possible it's the LCD itself; that series was known for panel issues (along with a lot of 17" laptops and desktops)

Well, it wasn't the base card, the 9600 was. 

A note on the RAM; you need just one of the two chips to be 1066MHz. The other can be a higher speed. The older white MacBooks were similarly weird. I *believe* the 1066 chip needs to be in Slot 0.

And shutting off IPv6 is a trivial terminal command.

Well, to be fair, the 700 has dedicated VRAM and better internal video in general. I suspect the IIci sold more, and it doesn't look that different from the IIcx, whereas the Quadra 700 is fairly unique.

No, I haven't actually. I just really like my Quadra 700.
