    Silencing Macintosh II

The IIfx had a variable speed fan. Perhaps see what fan Apple used and how they handled the speed adjustments?

    G4 vs G5 iMac performance

As far as iMac G5's go, there were three primary models; the launch units, the Ambient Light Sensor (ALS) models, and then the final iSight models, which were only produced for a few months before being replaced by the Intel units.  The iSight models are like most final PPC Macs; upgraded in a...

Classic mode on iMac g5: OSX 10.5

Classic is 10.4 or lower. I don't think anyone's ever bothered to make it work on 10.5.

    The $60 Intel iMac

The lack of OS and security updates for what is ultimately an eight year old desktop might play a role in that lack of demand...

    Advice on PB180

Cory5412 and I both have very little tunneling on our 180's. We suspect the arid Arizona climate might have something to do with that.

    Advice on PB180

IIRC its only the active-matrix 100 series that have the tunneling issue, so the 140, 145/145b, 150, and 160 should be okay.

    Use PowerPC for a week?

I'd look at the 9.7" iPad Pro's display in particular, since DisplayMate called its screen "the best LCD ever made".

Most Powerful GPU for Quad G5 ?

The G5 edition should look like this:  The Mac Pro version looks like this:  Usually that one will have a big plastic extender on the end to make it full-length.  Really, just buy from someone selling the top card as a G5 compatible card.

Most Powerful GPU for Quad G5 ?

The Quadro's extra VRAM won't matter because the card is slow; they weren't meant for gaming If you can find an X1900GT it might be a good grab.

Most Powerful GPU for Quad G5 ?

For the old G5s, perhaps. The Quad uses PCIe graphics cards, not AGP.

Most Powerful GPU for Quad G5 ?

What are you wanting to do with it? If you're planning on heavy gaming or just want raw performance you'll want the 7800GT/GTX. Keep in mind that a "flashed" card may be for a Mac Pro, not a G5, so make sure it's promising G5 compatibility. The Quadro is more of a "workstation" graphics card...

    Use PowerPC for a week?

I see a lot of stuff ragging on Tim Cook, but that statement is...more ignorant than usual. You might take into consideration the fact that Tim Cook's Apple is doing something even Jobs didn't accomplish; replacing the Insanely Dated!™ HFS+ file system. APFS just rolled out to iOS beta testers...

All songs are iTunes Plus now. And even if you bought DRMed versions, when redownloading them with iTunes in the Cloud they will be the higher bitrate Plus versions.

Terrible Advice from the Mac Plus Manual!

People didn't collect computers back then. Apple's expected service life was probably a couple years at most.
