Because someone had to be the first to bring it up... *FEETS* :D

    iMac G5

I love tinkering with machines, so if this big guy ever needs some work, I'll be happy to do it; for now, the iMac is 100% functional with no signs of trouble. I am amazed at how much faster it is than my old G4. Both iMacs are the first run of their models; the G4 is a 15" 800MHz, while the G5...

    iMac G5

Yeah, I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on it for any power-related issues going forward. If they do eventually go though, I'm happy to crack open the PSU and start recapping :)

    iMac G5

Just wanted to share with you all my most recent new-to-me Mac :) My girlfriend has an aunt that is extremely obsessive about taking care of her things. Her house is frightening levels of immaculate. Anyway, we were out at dinner a week or so ago when she mentioned something about her...

Something you don't see much of in Australia...

I still have my original 4GB iPhone from September 2007, right after the price drop :)

    iMac G4

Just an update - I've since bumped the RAM to 1GB, letting Leopard sing well enough on it. The other thing that I'm looking for these days is a copy of OS 9 that'll install on it - the only copy I have hanging around is a retail 9.1, and it won't install on the iMac.

What I've received as of late...

Bloody hell mate, that's quite the haul! And all for free! Use it well, and let us know what you do with it all!

    Lombard

Sounds like an awesome conquest! One thing - if you plan on actively using OS 9 on that machine, I'd bump the RAM up from 64MB to at least 128, if not 256.

    iMac G4

Mine is the original 800MHz one. I want to bump up its RAM someday, but 512MB is enough for Tiger and iTunes streaming for now, so I'm good on that front. It seems like a great little machine, and I'm really glad that I got it. I've wanted an iMac G4 on and off for several years now, just never...

    iMac G4

Poking through the local Craigslist, I came across an iMac G4 being advertised for $20. Looking at the crappy picture, it looked to be in decent enough shape. The brief description said that it turned on and showed a grey screen, and that the owner didn't have enough time to put into finding out...

    Finally, an Intel

Congrats mate! You're limited to Snow Leopard, but it's not like that's a bad OS by any means. I have my Core Duo MacBook here that I still use quite often, and it's a little champ of a performer. And for $200, great deal!

    mac mini :)

Congrats mate - you're gonna love the little guy :D I got my first mini last year as soon as the Nvidia ones came out, and have loved it ever since. So long as it's still around, I can definitely see myself getting another mini to replace this one in a few years!

    iMac :D

The speaker in the 6400/6500 (I have a 6500/225) is great for deep, rich sounds, but it really isn't that great for higher (or stereo for that matter, being one speaker) sounds. The iMac had a great range, obviously tilted a bit towards the treble, and equally great volume. Personally, if I had...

Greatest Tip Shop score EVER!!!!!!!!! Sage iMac DV+!!!

Tiger runs like a peach on my 600MHz slotloader. Just throwing that out there :) Nice score by the way! I've fallen in love with my iMac in the short time I've had it thus far - it's quite the computer!

    iMac :D

I'm in love with the speakers in it - they sound amazingly good for a machine like this.

    iMac :D

I just got what I consider one of the most attractive Macs Apple has ever made - the graphite iMac. Mine's a 600MHz Summer 2001 model, decked out with 512 megs of RAM and a CD burner - and all for $20! It's going on my deskbench to be a small work machine over on that end of my room...

Blueberry iBook Clamshell £21 on eBay

That also perfectly describes the Pismo ;) As mentioned though, that machine reads "Macintosh PowerBook G3" under the LCD, making it a Lombard.

    BLACKBOOK! (GrayBook) W00t!

Sleeping takes around 10 seconds? Welcome to the world of Intel Mac laptops. It's called Safe Sleep - it's writing the contents of RAM to the disk in case the battery dies or is removed or the power is otherwise cut while it is asleep. If that should happen, next time you start it up, it'll...
