    TashTalk: Single-Chip LocalTalk Interface

Thanks for your comments on my "AppleTalk Hell". So net 0 is not a normal net number. Hmmm why does all the LToUDP vMac use net 0? Is there a way to force it to a "normal" network number? And why is the MacBook (or iBook) better in handeling some parts of the network? All devices can see the...

    Yet Another Netatalk 2.2 Fork

On older Pi Netatalk Johnnya101 and myself tested Netatalk 2.2.5. Atalk didn’t start. It gave an severe error and won’t run. Not sure what happening. Best test would be to compile this new fork and test on a older Pi. I’m missing the time for now to do it. So anybody with a Pi 1 or so please test.

    Yet Another Netatalk 2.2 Fork

    Yet Another Netatalk 2.2 Fork

In my MacIPRpi project I try to do things not to complicated. My goal is always for a user to start the Pi and use evrything without any configuration. If you just have a simple network with old Macintosh, MacBooks or Windows machines the MacIPRpi is in the middle. So no special atalkd.conf...

Doctorin' the Tardis (and Timelord): The Revived AppleTalk Time Server

TimeLord In 1990, the University of Melbourne built a pair of tools called Timelord. Netatalk ( heart of the MacIPRpi) has a version to. It never worked until revived by 68kmla.org forum member cheesestraws. Now on the MacIPRpi with a UTC and LocalTime version in your Chooser. credits to...

MacIPRpi on a raspberry pi 1?

Hi. MacTjaap here. I maintain the MacIPRPi project. It is build for a Raspberry 3B+ or 4. They work both. I tried it on a older Pi but had some issues. Best would be just to test it. If I find some spare time I will do some testing, but not sure when this will happen. So… if there is a...

Connecting Laserwriter II (& others) to modern network?

Thanks for your interest in the MacIP stuff. Yes a Rpi is nice but costs some money. The VM and tiny version are software based. If have also a version for the OrangePi. This is a Raspberry clone. Cheap. But not so cheap as it used to be I bought them in the old days for only $9,99 Now they are...

    TashTalk: Single-Chip LocalTalk Interface

Maybe this helps: You can send out International orders without dealing with taxes. The shipment company will settle this for us. I have lots of experiance with this. I just pay to the shipment company the taxes. if you send out with normal mail our national mail will deal with the costs.

    Yet Another Netatalk 2.2 Fork

Netatalk works without any problem on the MacIPRpi. The whole idea behind the MacIPRpi is that a user can download an image, put it on SD, insert it into the Rpi (3B+ pr 4), boot it and ........you are in business. MacIP over LocalTalk and AppleTalk (DDP) file sharing (and more). No fuss about...

Super! Great solution. For MacIPRPi I stick with two instances. So a user can make the choice.

    Yet Another Netatalk 2.2 Fork

Nice one! On the MacIPRPi I just use a Debian repo from old times to do a apt-get install netatalk. It is simple and works. But… a well kept, bug free, updated 2.2.6 (2.2.7…) is fantastic! I will do some R&D with this code. Thanks for all your work and sharing! Let’s keep DDP alive!

Doctorin' the Tardis (and Timelord): The Revived AppleTalk Time Server

Exactly what I do on the MacIPRpi. I just run two instances. They fire up at boot so a user can choose which one to use. I guess that it must be able to do something with all timezones...but for now this is fine. Here you see it in action: Testing 1 2 3... On my development MacIPRpi...
