Hello MLAers! We've re-enabled auto-approval for accounts. If you are still waiting on account approval, please check this thread for more information.
Both of them are currently installed in a couple of SEs and appear to be working. I haven't installed the driver for the Novy card yet.
Where would I get a copy of SlotInfo?
This one's made by Novy Systems, but Novy Systems made a number of Mac SE accelerators and I can't pin down which one this is:
I'd love to know what the jumpers do as well.
I have no idea who made this one, there's no identifying information on the board whatsoever:
I'd love to know what...
Well, I got it to work. The FAQs seriously weren't kidding when they said this thing was finicky - put the wrong terminator on the hard drive and all sorts of weirdness happens.
It's much fussier than any SCSI implementation I've seen on the Mac or PC. The drive and terminator I tried to use...
I have a ROM 01 IIGS with a 1MB RAM card and CMS SCSI II SCSI controller. The SCSI controller has the final (1990) ROM and a 50MB hard drive hooked up to it.
I can't get the system to boot from the drive. The CMS SCSI software will format and partition the disk. I can also install GS/OS to it...
The 7.6 CD crashing at boot is normal on systems with stock analog boards.
It's a lot easier to get MacOS 7.1 working under this configuration, as you only need to patch the System Enabler.
I have here a Mac Portable that has been through a lot, but for a while I had it working perfectly. Then, for no reason out of the blue, every other scanline on the bottom third of the screen is gone. I've tried rebuilding the cable, but that hasn't cured it (I had to use the original connectors...
Man I really am going to have to bite the bullet and find a PPC machine to open that damn SMI on aren't I?
Why couldn't everyone just have uploaded their Mac software as proper disk images? Why was Aladdin's software so relentlessly terrible?
I've been trying to track down a copy of the RadiusWare software, but all the files I've managed to find are corrupted, are in Stuffit 5 format, or contain a ShrinkWrap self-mounting image that crashes.
I have a disk image of the RadiusWare 2.0.3 disk, but I really could use a disk image of the...
The Apple Display Card 4*8 and 8*24 NuBus video cards had an upgraded ROM available that allowed them to be switched to 832x624. Has anyone dumped this ROM, or can loan me a card with this ROM for dumping purposes?
I found an LC520 motherboard and I need to replace the capacitors. Problem is, the markings on C9 have corroded off, so I can't tell what value it is. Does anyone have any high-res photos of the board (or just have the board on hand)?
Also keep in mind that II-series power supplies die very gradually. If you keep plugging and unplugging the power cord and mashing on both the keyboard and back panel power buttons, you might get it to turn on. If that works, then you know the power supply is hosed.
Check the batteries first...
I seem to remember some of the Woz editions shipped with ROM 01 boards. It looks like mine certainly did.
Also, are there any real hardware differences between ROM 00 and 01 machines? If not you should be able to upgrade just by burning/swapping in an 01 ROM.
Really?
That is AMAZING. It's like the iPhone but even worse. I'd love to see some scans of this secret contract bullshit.
Shit, if this is true then it's no wonder the Newton never caught on.
