At the shop I worked at about 9 years ago we used a lot of the PC Chips motherboards. They were fairly good boards, and we had very few problems with them.
Of course who know what that means now, a lot can change in 9 years.
I don't know why but for some reason I really want to do this project in Java. Don't know why C++ would be just fine. I already know both languages, so that really is not a problem.
Any way I bought a copy of Symantec Cafe from eBay today. Guess I'll give it a spin.
Though I have to say that...
You should see an IBM BladeCenter H with the fans at full speed. You can feel the blast from 10' away.
I spilt some water on my shirt once at work. So I just reset the management module so the fans would go to full speed and stood behind the BladeCenter. My shirt was dry in about 30 seconds.
So are there any Java compilers that run on a 68k?
I read some stuff about Symantec Cafe, but I can't find any requirements for it.
I plan to run this on a IIsi with 17mb of RAM.
I'm hoping that an older version of Java won't be a complete system hog. Especially if I can compile it instead of...
Boy is that a awkwardly worded sentence or what.
"Requires compatible display card and Macintosh IIsi NuBus Adapter card or display adapter."
This is how I read that sentence
Requires (Display Card ^ NuBus Adapter) v (display adapter).
So what is this display adapter of which they speak...
I plicked up a Apple Multiple Scan 14 display today and I am trying to attach it to my IIsi.
When I turn on the system the moniotr briefly exits sleep mode, but then returns to sleep mode.
Looking at this page it implies that it is not compatible with the onboard video on a IIsi. That a Nubus...
As a side note, this article explains why K7 and latter processors are not socket compatible with Intel chips.

There was Forbes article about 6 years ago with more deal but I can't find it.
I would say that it was previously owned by a company that had outsourced part or all of their IT operations to IBM.
Odd that it does not have a machine type listed. Even though it is not an IBM machine, it should have an assigned machine type.
The ICN is the IBM Customer Number.
I also have a 44p-170, please let me know if you figure out how to put the bloody side back on. It keeps falling off on mine.
Hopefully they send the hard drive bracket with yours. I did not get one with mine so I just stuck in the second 5.25" bay.
Yes I do believe you are correct. I have seen a similar setup described in the book "Build your Own Macintosh and Save a Bundle."

When is the copyright on the Orginal Macintosh ROMs up? For some reason I am think that the copyright is good for only 25 years.
--Edit, a quick shows that it is 95 years after publication. That is just ridiculous.
I also checked Apple registered the copyright on the Macintosh ROMs in 1984...
To move that kind of stuff you would need a 25' truck, which would run you about $100 a day. They are typically rated to about 35,000 lbs but they lower the GVWR to 23,000 so you can drive it with regular Class C license. I think the weight of the truck itself is about 8000. So you could get...
I think the issue at heart is that it takes a lot of effort to run a site like this.
Frankly there are more important things in life then a forum on the Internet, so I don't expect everything to be perfect. I would feel bad if I thought that the admins were neglected their personal life to keep...
