Has anyone been able to use the PLCC for the rom instead of the SIMM? No matter what we do, we can’t get it to boot. With a simm in place it boots right away.
If anyone has had success with these, I’d be very grateful for some rom files so I can compare. Byte swap has been done as per instructions.
@mrw For mine, beware that the passive are 0603, even smaller than 0805 (the LED is 0805), it's designed to be soldered by JLCPCB rather than me :) The Kicad project is there in GitHub as well, so you could replace the passive by larger version if you wanted to. I'm also using weaker (higher...
Very interesting! Thanks for the information! Question, would the classic II really benefit from running the fpu at 40Mhz given that the bus is only 16bits wide?
The card also looks very cloneable :). Might be a project for later 😅
You need special settings for the plus, the scsi implementation is very quirky, mine struggled as well, but @rabitholecomputing helped me out. If it’s already not solved, I can share you my settings when I’m home tomorrow.

Board is not toast, but the CPU likely is. You can get a new CPU HERE.
It's of course not super easy to change it, but i'm pretty sure your recap friend should be able to do it. Those CPU:s are in general very fragile.
Fantastic work @max1zzz !! I recently started the task for making a new analogue board for the Plus, so first step was to remove all components and get a good scan. So here you go if anyone else wants to try it before I finish. I've also scanned the plastic cover. I also noticed the the scanner...
Interesting! Do you have any link to those german forums :)? Would be nice to learn how it works. The whole thing does look very german :D. You didn't find any reference to which software is necessary for it?
Ah, that’s actually a good theory! By closer inspection, I think the vga connector is added later, the soldering look non original, it’s mounted slightly skew and there seems to be an extra cut out in the case.
