15” is different from 17”. I have 3D printed the mechanical part for the 17”. Can share the model if you PM me. 3D print as in 3D printed stainless steel.
This is in production now in China :), will arrive next week, then I need to run some testing and send out a few beta units.
The simm will automatically switch some pins between se/30 and “Quadra”. It’s 4MB because this is the maximum you can use with the apple flasher tool (as per @dougg3...
can’t chip into the overclocking (yet), but I can confirm that the ROM from a 475 works in a Q650. It will then identify itself as a Q800. Would be interesting to see the timings from that ROM! My recent experiments with ROM hacking (see also @dougg3 thread) has proved this. You need a special...
Yes, both me and @dougg3 has pulled it off :). The MMU tables must be modded, stock it will only have 2MB of ROM space. There is a lot of hacking still to be done before it can be "released", and it will not be enough with 1 version for all machines. Q700/900/950 can share same ROM (based of...
WOHO!! Damn your good :). Also see my email, we need to try this on a 475 since it has a different memory controller (or you can also just send me the hacked flasher and I'll get to it here) and the memory mapping is different.
The last universal ROM is the Q950. This ROM will also boot in a IIci/SE/30 (the dev notes even says so) etc, but I found it to be pointless. The base 512kb is essentially identical to that of IIsi (for functions), and the other 512kb contains a lot of empty space and then only the necessary...
The RED ROM in the Macintosh Interactive TV is 2MB:
So 99% sure this tool could program that :). I did look into also recreating that red ROM, but so far I have not been able to track down enough of those chips in the right package to make it worth while :(.
Been thinking also, I made a...
Really awesome!! Well done @dougg3 ! Can’t wait to play with this!!
Do you have a classic II machine? I remembered that I actually have some FPU boards with ROM provision for that machine. I would assume this software should also be able to program it?
Pretty sure those should work. I designed a PCB instead that uses modern chips (and covers both slots). With this I have 4MB ROM space. I haven't gotten to try anything else than stock ROM on it, but will when I get more time.
The major benefit is that this I can program in the normal ROM SIMM...
Nice Doug!!! I might be interested in a board :D
Chips are also available here: https://shop.tvsat.com.pl/en_GB/p/3pcs-AM28F020-150JC-2Mbit-Flash-Memory-SMD-PLCC32-AMD/19855
This!! Just amazing!
I got the connectors from Quest Comp. Derf had an MOQ of 10pcs and asked for 25$/piece. The quest comp one was 9$ instead (when I bought 6).
