Hi!
I found this device on a local auction. It connects to the scsi-port and has what looks like a VGA connector on the side.
The box is marked:
VideoStreamer Data Save Interface.
Does anyone have any information on this device? I assume it output the screen, but do I need some drivers for it...
Has anyone attempted to build an SE/30 with "as much new components as possible". And if so, have you sourced from Mouser? And if so, do you have a basket for it :)?
Reason is that I anyway need to order some new MUX-chips (LS166 and LS393) for a repair job and thought I could might as well...
I bought a Macintosh II upgraded to iifx (official upgrade with new sticker on the bottom, but old PSU) that unfortunately turned out to be partially battery bombed (one battery had gone). Luckily after cleaning, only the startup circuit was gone, so it would start using 5V on the PSU. After...
Try slighty bending back the pins on the SIMM-socket, this has happened on a few of my machines and caused the above problem. Try also testing the module in another machine so you are sure the module is ok. Otherwise it can of course be the on board ram which is bad. Have you started the machine...
I got my board working! What I did was to check and slightly bend all the pins in the ram sockets. If one of them is too far back it will not get contact with the simm and cause this exact problem. Maybe not same issue on your board, but worth checking. I also had a set of bad ram, but I assume...
Reviving Athis old thread since I have a similar problem. I accidentally destroyed the two original ROMs by putting them on pin left… so they are fried.
I do have a programmer, and it looks fairly straight forward to make new ones. However, It says here that you need “100ns and faster”. I have...
I had same problem and also replaced same chip, but without success at first. Then I realized that one pin is taking ground from the other side of the board and that via was broken. So a small bodge to a nearby ground solved the issue. I’ll try to post a picture.
Did you ever get your boards working? I have a iifx that also had battery leak that is doing the exact same thing. I do however only get death chime with a rominator. It could be the ram, but I’ve tried two different sets in a lot of combinations but without success.
Don’t know if anyone else has had the same problem, but my external Zuluscsi (same case as external SCSI2D) does not fit all computers. In my case there was a collision on the IIci. Since I’m fairly handy with CAD these days and also have several printers, I decided to draw and print a new lid...
You can print a lot of different metals these days :). It's real Sci-fi actually! For the rubber feets I haven't checked, but those can probably be printed using flexible resin. I'll take a look. For the IIci I'm 3D-printing feets in flexible resin.
