Well i took it apart and there was a black burn in the backlight bulb. I have never had a powerbook that just straight up wouldnt turn on. I think somebody put the wrong voltage and fried it? Cant think of anything else.
Hello i just got a powerbook 180 and its dead for real. No sound no chime nothing. Tried removing ram cleaned it nothing at all. Any ideas? Even the nice 120mb scsi drive is dead. Tested it on a 520c. Thanks and the adapter is the same one i use on my 170 that works.
Your logic board has the yellow chips. Idk why but i had a 170 with yellow chips and was having the same issues until i just replaced the whole logic board.also it could be the power supply
What a stupid idea to even have 1920 as a date. Who has files from 1920-1970?? The computers werent even out then. They should have programmed it so it 1990-2070 or something. What a weird idea. Yoy know mabie theres a reason for it but seriously.
This is really weird. I just bought a powerbook 160 and it works has some screen problems but it works. I had to put a powerbook 165 board in it becuase it kept giving sad mac chimes even with the ram removed. Anyway last night i turned it off it was still plugged in and when i come into the...
I had the same problem with a powerbook 170. The thing would just go to sad mac sound even after removing the ram card. Had to replace the logic board. Mabie the board got shorted somewhere?
