Is there a way to force the fan to always be on? I believe my Sony CR-45 has a bad temp-control board and I'd rather have the fan be always on than deal with replacing the temp control board. I believe that shorting the thermocouple should fix that, but there might be another way.

Oooo, can’t wait! Speaking of that, does anyone know how where I should mount a SD card extensions inside of my HD20? The gaps in the case aren’t big enough to fit one without having the main non-ribbon cable part sucking out.

I've taken it apart, yes, the plates are moving. Here it is going through a self-test before the error. After the cut it the heads stay there till the drive is turned off and on again.

I went and replaced the cable with a normal floppy cable and plug adapter. No dice, unfortunately, still gave the same 2800000 error. The cable that connects the drive to the board looks 100% fine, so I doubt it's that. I also went and used contact cleaner on all of the plugs. Any clue on where...

I can hear it doing the self-test every time, but I'll check the cable. The rubber is separated from the connector shielding on the cable, so I assume maybe a wire snapped inside as well.

I may have an HD20 to slot one of these emulators in now. Coming up with a communication error involving hi->low busy signals. So, might be a good candidate for a swap.

I'm wondering if there are any other solutions besides the FloppyEmu for HD20 emulation. While the FloppyEmu is nice, I'd rather not buy another one just to condemn it to the inside of a SCSI case. Are there any cheaper/no screen solutions, like the BlueSCSI?
