The drives will "autodetect" if set to cable select, but that depends on the cable supporting CS. It's safest to set master/slave with the jumpers on each drive (including the optical, if really are installing a third drive)
What I did was set up an AP with a bridge on one of the raspberry pis. Then I can use an ssh shortcut on my phone to turn on the retro WiFi when I am using a clamshell or tibook; and another to turn it back off when I am done.

Is there a soft mod for Mac OS X? I have a 9800 SE here that I recall worked when soft modded in Windows. Could put that in my G5 for no good reason :)
My clamshells have msata to ide adapters. You can find used msata drives for cheap and the clamshells have new enough IDE controllers that they work fine.
I’m talking about render complexity in the original levels. Marathon has to do more work, so properly optimized it will slot in your list a bit slower than Doom should.
Very nice. One thing I love about this is the RJ45 sticks out level with the slot so that the cable is not IMPOSSIBLE to push the tab on and remove, unlike my RJ45 MacCon :)
You should replace the caps, no question, but also: check continuity across the power switch. Those fail in LC II PSUs. I was able to get mine to power on (after re-capping) by bypassing the switch!
