I have a Daystar Turbo 040 33MHz accelerator that is currently not work. When putting into any one of three IIci computers I have, I just get a black screen and nothing else. I have tried swapping out the CPU for a known working one and it has not made any difference. Visual inspection shows no...
I recently installed a Diimo 030 50MHz accelerator in my Mac SE/30 and also upgraded to 128MB 60ns memory. The SE/30 requires 120ns memory running at stock 16MHz frequency. My questions is does the lower latency of 60ns have any benefit when using such an accelerator or is the memory access the...
I enabled debugging via SW2 on the the ZuluSCSI and have attached the log files for both v1.0.6 and 1.0.7 firmware versions from my Macintosh IIci. I hope this helps you find the source of the problem.
FYI, I just tried the 1.07 firmware on my Mac IIci and my system either freezes on startup or gets a address error trying to boot System 7.1. I rolled back to 1.06 and everything is working again.
A gamer-changer indeed. The Diimo 030 is the best 030 accelerator period for the SE/30. The PDS passthru and it's 64K cache make it so. It also plays nice with the ROM-Inator II. I may be looking at an Ethernet card or video card down the road. Nice to have that as an option with this setup:)
Well, I just got a Diimo 030 50MHz with FPU for my SE/30 from Buyee today too. It seems I had to sell my soul to get it, but I was happy to do so. I have wanted this setup for quite some time. I tried a TwinSpark PDS adapter with DayStar PowerCache P33 50MHz and I had no luck getting cache...
I did some benchmarking of the card and all is working as it should. What put me down this path is some of the After Dark 4.0 modules were extremely slow, in particular Satori. It turns out that is the only real issue with the card. I don't know why the modules are as slow as they are in some...
I checked with the SuperMac Spectrum/8*24 PDQ as the only NuBus card installed. It made no difference in performance, it was only when the Astante Ethernet card is plugged in that things really slowed down.
Here are a set of results running SpeedOMeter 3.23 & 4.02 on both the Radius Rocket Stage II & Mac IIci. From left to right are:
Radius Rocket Stage II - SpeedOMeter 3.23 showing the results against a Quadra 950
Radius Rocket Stage II - SpeedOMeter 4.02 showing the results against a Quadra 950...
I finally tracked down why the video performance of this card was below what I was expecting. In the Mac IIci I had a Radius Rocket Stage II, the SuperMac Spectrum/8*24 PDQ video and an Astante Ethernet card. I removed the Astante Ethernet card and the performance and behavior of the video card...
One final update. System 7.0.1 works just fine. It was the only System 7 version I did not try. so for the immediate future I am going to stick with that.
I got if from a seller on eBay that had a spare one he was willing to part with.

I had heard about the sound issue with the Radius Rocket, but I have not found it to a problem so far. The Stage II was the last model sold by Radius and they may have fixed...
I have a work around for now. I took the System file from the ROM-Inator II and copied over the missing icons from another System file using ResEdit. All the icons show correctly now and it boots properly. This should be good enough until I can check the board over for anything else that maybe...
I did one final upgrade today and installed 128MB in the Radius Rocket Stage II. The manual said it worked with 16MB SIMMs and I can now verify that it does indeed!
I got a Mac IIci that has been recapped and it has a ROM-Inator II installed. The issue I am having is that when trying to boot System 7.1x or 7.5.x it freezes very shortly in to booting process. I have tried booting with Extensions off and that has not helped. . I have tried all versions of...
