Hi I have a common Asante MacCon Ethernet card that came in an SE/30 originally stacked on top of a Diimo. The Diimo is missing two caps but when I plug the card into the PDS slot (the logic board was just recapped by me) - the entire machine just clips, clicks and won't power on anything...
Well this one is where the 030 board gets plugged in - the board into this fan unit - then this gets plugged in presumably from the vacant connector w the one pin a bit wider than the rest. Do you see the connector now here (not the one w a cord plugged in)? It's the same kind as the psu we've...
Thanks for the tip! Btw - what's the cable called that runs off the Meanwell? It's the same 4-pin connector on my fan pictured above w one of the pins set off to one side...
Full disclosure - i tinkered w running power from CRx and started a moderate electrical fire inside my Plus. I have a different problem now :) I'm in timeout until I can find a manual.
Hi I have a couple of 030 Mac Plus accelerators and both hAve a way to grab extra power via red and black clips that I recall clip on to a resistor on the power sweep board. Does anyone know which resistor you can do this with? I just can't find a manual around this task.
Scratch that the shielding is there - I do think it's related to these two shields under each boards given ifs propensity to fail when they'd be closest to them.
Thanks all - lots to try here - I did wonder about the metal shielding under the analog board. I removed the shield under the LB. What's really the point of the shielding functionally?
I'm going to nail the connectors on both.
Looking at it again - it's absolutely an 030 - somewhat less exciting - but interesting given the general lack of Iifx accelerator options. I'll post detailed pics when it arrives.
Ah okay - makes sense. It just looks like an 040 to me given the coloring. The docs suggest it runs at 55mhz... I'll post detailed pics when it arrives.
I've never seen one - but i will acknowledge that i overpaid for the card inside on Buyee. All the references I see on Iifx upgrades have to do w overclocking the 030 - so I'm not totally sure what I'm looking at. The screen pic on the sale page reflects the original processor - which may just...
