NEW DAY, NEW TESTING: Okay decided to start again, I re-flashed with the latest GL-AR300M16 firmware from the manufacturers website, this still includes WRT 18.06 so it should be fine. I figured it might be the pure OpenWRT that might be causing an issue. After this, I was facing the same...

Goofy Line on PowerBook 180c Display

I also had good luck with VIS - but that is some terrible service. If they don't want to give refunds for faulty products they should advertise as so. I checked their website and they do not have a refund policy for defective units, they only talk about 'ordering by mistake' and restocking fees...

MacTCP over PCMCIA ethernet slow startup

I found this option in the TCPIP control panel, I'll try unchecking 'Load only when needed' and see how it changes things.

MacTCP over PCMCIA ethernet slow startup

@cheesestraws I had a look but found nothing, I then did a search online and found this: https://apple.fandom.com/wiki/Network_Software_Selector So I guess I'm not supposed to have it, but I don't seem to have any MacTCP control panel etc so maybe I'm not using it. I do have a TCPIP control...

@cheesestraws Hi and thanks for the help. I do have Open Transport 1.3 installed. Should I disable MacTCP? Does that involve just disabling its extension? I am a proper MacOS noob thanks for the help :)

    Powerbook 190cs full refurbishment & re-cap

@mac-cellar A better version I found here: But yes the same kind of thing. I heated the batteries up too long with my solder and they unfortunately don't charge. I'm going to try again but this time I'll be much quicker with the solder.

    PB180 preventative maintenance?

@sutekh Cheers for the photo of your pram battery build. I attempted exactly the same thing but I think I applied too much heat dwell time on the batteries and they're not holding charge. I've re-ordered some new ones and was thinking of using conductive electrical glue this time, what do you...

    Macintosh Quadra 840av

I noticed you don't mention what you've already done. I recommend (if you haven't already) remove all the electrolytic caps, give the board a thorough clean in distilled water and IPA. Clean all vias, chips and sockets. Replace all the capacitors. All of this before worrying about 2 random caps...

    Powerbook 190cs full refurbishment & re-cap

Recently I was shown a horror story of capacitors inside the screen inverter board & display unit going bad and ruining someones old powerbook. I then realised that although my screen was new old stock, the caps were still 30 years old and have a shelf life. I opened it back up and replaced...
